The closest this documentary comes to making a scientific statement is that 80 million year old fossilized ants are anatomically the same as modern ants. Insects were around for 400+ million years... Also the neural networks that govern the behavior of individual ants could have evolved without people currently having a way of measuring this from a fossil.
