The answer to your question depends upon where our government is at and where it's going. Congress simply refuses to stand up to men as unreasonable as Bush/Cheney. Why should a Ron Paul be any different? I also thought that cutting the department of education was scary too, until I gave it some thought. How effective is it at this point? Not very, and with billions of dollars at it's disposal. Ultimately, the government cares very little about educating your child or my own.
