I dig different Art styles but why do I get the sense that Mr vonGloeden is/was a perv.
Sorry Australians but maybe they are worried they'll get sued for compensation, by the many aboriginals whose photos have been printed on NG through out the years,
fuck you fucking fagots go and fuck yourself for fucking banning almost all your interesting videos in my fucking country i hope all you fuckers fucking die
I think a lot could be learned from some of those photos from an anthropological perspective. Maybe they should create some sort of digital archives for college libraries and the likes.
You know national geographic has a good reputation worldwide but they don't pay most of the interns people just want the name of the instution on their resumé and they know this. You will have access the the archives except the digitized that they know isn't worth much.
that being said the collection of early 1900s shots are the nice.I love them.
I bought the National Geographic Image Collection. It is a awsome book. It is worth every penny. Alought the book has only 450 photos which is still alot.
I just hope that high quality digital scans will be made of all of them & maybe made available in the internet. Even if not published, I still wish they would scan them. It makes me nervous to think that only one copy of these priceless photos exists.
she said MILLION. 11.5 billion.. thats like impossible amount to work with. Imagine all the storage you would need for just 1 billion.. not to mention the other 10.5billion.. she said million dood

Photos are not art to me it's just to easy to make one. It's like the bow and the crossbow, it takes skill to master the bow but any idiot can shoot the crossbow.
But not any idiot can shoot a crossbow accurately or efficiently.
Not everyone can aim a camera the right way, or judge light correctly, or use the right lens, or the right style of photography. There's so many variables and this is why few people take GOOD photographs.

My favorite pastime, before I could read, was to browse through my grandfather's collection from the early 1900s issues.

I'd like to hear more from Maura M.
rather than seeing her used as the straight man
for smug platitudes.
SHE appears to have something to say.

The commentator should be a politician.
He uses far too many words
to express the painfully obvious.
Some wonderful photographs, though.

NG should organize an lottery via their website and give a nice print of one of old photographs to one person every month.

National Geographic should digitalize all the pictures and release them under the creative commons license.

What? Just being able to paint or draw doesn't automatically make you a great artist, what makes a great artist is the composition of the image.

a good photography is a piece of art. a normal photography is just a photo, an imortalization of a moment.

cause you know everything there is to cameras right? all the special settings even basic things like how long the shutter is open. your a fool
why do you think National Geographic has is still around, its not just the articles but the amazing photographs to go with them
