On topic, the epoc looks pretty interesting from a developers perspective; at least there's potential for future applications. It can interpret conscious and non-conscious thoughts, emotions and detect a range of emotions - pretty impressive.

@MrBaanaana Reaction time is dependent on the amount of time used on training the software to your brain. The more you train it to recognize your brain, the faster it will react. And yes, it can emulate a full keyboard and mouse! I recommend using a video headset and setting the built-in Gyroscope as the mouse.

@maksenDK Agree with you - I think doing gestures is due to either our primitive brains or our lack of ability to focus. But little by little when practicing these types of things, our brains will "work out" and get stronger so people wont feel like they need to do gestures.

I think that its more to sell the product than nething else. I ran into a similiar problem with the biofeedback community for wilddivine--- That uses finger sensors that picks up heart coherence exct. What i learned however is that you DO NOT need the physical aspect of the body to train these things to effect the programs. I wopuldnt even say that youyr mind is doing it either, but moreso the intensity of your will or ability to trigger the relax response.

what an illusion! they claim that this device reads your mind like "I wanna lift the rock" and than the rock is rising, but in deed the game tells you to concentrate (on whatever not necesarily lifting a rock) and than the just lift the rock, because it was programed that way. This Interface is just controlled by your level of stress, relaxing or concentration. Actually it is a lie to claim that it reads your mind. In fact it is just a lie-detection software combined with a xbox.

@Shasty2000 The Emotiv Epoc is a device for Electroencephalography. The only difference is that it is designed for portability and ease of use. It records the electrical activity along the scalp produced by the firing of neurons within the brain. At first, you have to go through a series of training simulations so that the software can map the neural activity of your brain for each specific command. Look it up on wikipedia. DARPA invested $4 million in this research in 2009 for U.S. soldiers.

@TheMoneyKing1991 Of what gmac from Emotiv says. They don't have a USB Driver system for the consoles yet. They simply haven't looked into it, yet. So, for the time being, it's PC only. You can check the app GlovePie from Carl Kenner. It's emulates most controllers.
