Fiona Apple is definitely one of the artists that, when I do have kids, I will proud to say this was one my generations' great musicians, like my father showed me the Beatles, Jim Croce, and Chicago from when he was younger that I love to this day and I'm 24 grant it there's a whole bunch more from my youth/generation but she will most surely be noted for years to come for her work as an amazing musician.

Amy Winehouse DOES NOT sing everything the same way and I can vouch for that as a fan of both AW and Fiona Apple.
With that said, you can't even begin to compare the 2 artists to each other simply because their genres and singing style is just way too different.
They have completely different styles and it takes a person with a very unique taste in music to appreciate EITHER artist.

he is not mayer's drummer,he is charley drayton and is an amazing drummer and bassist,but i agree Mr. chamberlain is great too.

There's just something about this woman that confounds me. She's so incredibly awkward. From what I've seen of her, the more her "people" try to dress her up for big events, the worse she looks. Yet, dressed in a simple old dress and pigtails she's breathtaking.
I think she's turned being uncomfortable into an art form.

Fiona is shunned by feeble minded parasites. Those of us need not such simpletons to respect the sheer intensity and brilliance of Fiona. A gift! If she was accepted by such an audience she would be pushed into an area of attention that would limit the potential she continually strides on. (and that is not being so easily understood), and making music for the charts, but to last forever.

I remembered one more thing try to take away all the fancy lights playbac and special effects form maddona live shows what is left? almost nothing :\ i had seen ONE maddona acustic show and it was nice now try listend to a Fiona apple CD and then watch a few live preforms of 1 song see the difference? Fiona doesn't need to kiss Britney Spears to by great and see doesn't need mass media that's way i love fiona over maddona
