@ecdm311 Actually, he got tired of the pressure from the record company to do "novelty hip hop" instead of the more jazz-oriented stuff he was interested in. He got burnt out.
just started listening to this guy.I only remember him from bevis, but now I really feel I've missed out on a good show and seeing some talented stage work,I've come around and thanks for putin up this vid
By the way, massive thanks to you for not complaining to youtube to get these vids taken down. So many times i've found a much-loved song on here, only to be greeted by...... silence! And that friendly little notice about 'infringement'.
@900heyzues -- Really really dug you back in the day and still do -- I used to manage a place in Springfield, MO that you played @ around 1990 or 1991 (probably '91) called "La Boum" -- you were one of the coolest artists and so gracious and your music is just as good today -- Truth is never out of style when nine oh oh is in the house

@pyenapple That's Annalisa Ripke and Chris McGuire in the video with me. Annalisa sings the chorus with me on the CD. Chris played the flute solo on the CD, but not the bass. A friend of mine named Steve Dirkx played the bass line for me, and I looped it. Some of my favorite musicians, and favorite people too.
Hey for those who asked: the flute player played with Mark for a long time. His name is Chris McGuire. He is an awesome multi instrumentalist out of Dallas, Texas.
I really enjoyed this video and many others from Rock Video Monthly. My friends and family thought I'd flipped out, but I thought many of the alternative acts were great.
This song is so jazzy and the visuals so trippy, that it just makes my day. Thx!
Check out his Facebook page. I agree with one comment that Jesus should have been better known for his musicality, storytelling, and his digestible but intelligent blend of style and lyricism. You can say the same thing about Soul Coughing and other smart jazz-hop bands, but there is something peculiarly likeable about Jesus that makes my sharing him with ignorant friends both enjoyable and disappointing. I feel like they should already know about him!
he blew his wad and had nofhing left
