  • when you switch the grip the guy can just go with the hand down and you cant reach it?

  • I am a bjj black belt I use this all the time. Ive setup up everyone in every belt category and wrestlers in nogi this exact move was taught to me by a Royce Gracie Blackbelt.. whoever says this doesn't work doesn't roll.. or just sucks.

  • @jiujitsuG0D amen brother

  • Wow. The armbar transition was really brilliant. Nice video! :D

  • The only thing that I can say is that from the thousands of techniques posted on Youtube, you just have to try them and see what works and what doesn't work for you. Sometimes it depends on the level or training between you and your opponent. Sometimes it can depend on the size and strength of your opponent. Whatever the situation you already should have been trained to be able to move from one submission to another if one fails.

  • I love this move I have done it alot. Good post man.

  • another awesome video jay!

  • hey man i see you dont care about all these comments but you are a very good teacher i used this when i rolled yesterday at class really worked but the dude was big so kept getting reversed on the arm bar but thanks alot any knoledge is good all these guys are here looking at these vids cause they dont know shit about bjj Assasinater75 stop watching ufc and think you know everything you have no respect

  • @roberts6191561915 thanks bro.... but no worries as the haters don't bother me. I'm just a regular guy who has been training jits for the last 12 years or so. I'll never be the best black belt but I'll never be the worst either. I just do my best and put stuff up here for my students and those that may be interested. Thanks again for the support.

    Jay

  • very tricky and complicated. just what I look to confuse my opponents :)

  • Awesome position man. Thanks for the video. Sorry about all the haters. This move works great for a setup that I like to do from topside. I go knee-on-belly with my right knee, and then turn my hips towards his head. As the knee scrapes his arm off his body it traps his arm to the mat and then it's basically the same as your video. Been working great. Thanks again!

  • If you don't like it, don't use it and don't comment on it. Good for you being Brazilian, we're all happy for you. On a related note you must be some real good jujitsu brazilian guy weezling around on youtube looking for moves. I would think your technique would be beyond this site, if you are indeed that good to criticizes others.

  • @Assasinater75Xbox this is my favorite comment of all time. You amuse me :)

  • completely rubbish, u would never be able to do such complicated movements, a grappler who has just a little bit power would make an very easy reversal... sorry but thats just my opinion...

  • @esmile7 everyone is entitled to an opinion my friend but I'd suggest trying the move before discounting it. It's easier than it looks.

  • @jbelljitsu I landed it a few times just by knowing it was possible from having it done on me, first couple times I tried to pull it off I kind of stepped on my training partners face lol the vid is awesome man

  • @esmile7 I've done it plenty dude. Not the way he says, but I've done the move plenty.

  • This works pretty well if they are trying to turn away from you. Best to go for an arm bar or knee on belly for points/position if they aren't trying to turn away.

  • what belt level are your submissions Jay?

  • @hermanator1989 depends on the move. I'd say most are pretty basic although this would not be one that would fall into that basic category. Failoplata and the modified kimura are also probably a little more advanced but other than that I'd estiamte at least 60-75% of what i've put up is pretty straight forward old school basics

  • love this move, thanks

  • Nice vid - I am going to have to work on swiching the hands.

    Ben

  • Love this move!

  • I thought you were just trying to show off! By the way I checked out your skate video and now I'm not so surprised about how god you are in such a short period of time. with balance and body control like that you would be good at most athletic activities I'm guessing.

  • @jbelljitsu i've been skating for about 6 or 7 years, so thats where the balance is from. why i'm progressing so quickly in bjj i dont know, the only other martial art i did growing up was karate, and i did it for only a month. but thanks again!

  • for the record.... i was adjusting my cup.
