  • Is it the truth that two of these men had butter-babies with the same woman?

If you look in the photo album, you can clearly see a likeness.

  • where i can found this show?

  • I don't understand people that click dislike. just don't watch the god damn video if you don't like it. Nothing more gutless than an anonymous dislike. Either way, to the three Uncle fuckers who clicked dislike.... you will never amount to anything close to Deep Purple. Keep jerking off you wastes of cum

  • Rarely seen Lord playing on electric piano

  • oh damn.. when it starts saying MUSIC TODAY i feel like - damn, i wish it would still be this way! deep purple are the best!

  • lol, must of the germans said they didnt liked it, that it was too monotonous and they didnt improvised

  • Hi, Does Anyone know the name of the organ or keyboard, that jon lord is playing at the beginning of the song?

  • @schlappadudaaffe Yes It's an RMI electra piano. Cool sound eh? Jon Lord had it incorporated into his hammond later on.Used also by Wakeman and genesis.

  • Deep Purple Iconos del Rock mundial.

  • Great peformance... i love it ! respect , magic ^^

  • Check out Jon Lord rockin the keys at the beginning...

  • This song grooves hard.

  • Guy at 7:55 killing flies: "WTF... when are they going to play Burn"

  • @5targazer Burn wasn't even out yet.

  • :D

  • Ritchie gives a mild preview of what he plans to do (9:52) to the ABC television camera at the California Jam, 3 years later with MkIII Purple -- lol :D

  • @1958marky axaxa

  • yea deep purple show the nazis what is real music not all this tokio hotel bullshit and all this classical bullshit

  • i've seen some George Thorogood live videos from Germany around 1980.... (and other cool stuff from 70s) the fans are in full freak mode dancing and carrying on... doing everyone proud

  • This guys were so innovative that people of the time didn't know how to react to this kind of music. I watched Zeppelin, Sabbath or Priest videos and I could see people dancing to "Iron Man". Anyway, good music is timeless and so is Deep Purple!

  • nos anos 70 soh existia gente bonita , bem vestida e com o cabelo perfeito ? e ainda assistindo show do DEEP PURPLE ? oh god *-*

    gotta love 70's

  • I'd like to buy a time machine,be sitting in the audience, and after the show...get backstage and be the little groupie girl for the night.... ; )

  • @littlequeen64 Slut.

  • @Deathsiren Flea.......; 0

  • Awesome.

  • i feel like m back to black n white world where true rock stars rocked everyone

  • The best Deep Purple Line Up ever !!! I saw Dp with Steve Morse and he really did a great job , he's a great gitarist , maybe better than Blackmore but this Line Up is a legend !!!!!!! the same with Black Sabbath ...without Ozzy ?????????????

  • Another great song by Deep Purple, hard to find bad ones trough :D

  • oh oh oh ! very good! i am in trance

  • Awesome cymbals. Paiste Giant Beat?

  • Jon Lord made the difference.

  • Stupid editing asking the viewers for comments halfway. Pity to interrupt the clip that way...

  • dp a classic band...at the top of there game here...the mk2 line up!!!!!

  • Dude, you have a fantastic collection of DP/related videos. Thanks!!

  • The beginning 70's were a very complicated time in Germany. So many changes in lifestyle and music. Watch the music 10 years before... Today we know better and if I could travel back in time and see this performance I sure would be one of the craziest persons of this crowd :-) RITCHIE BLACKMORE.... my HERO !!!

  • @jpscoey So I suppose the BBC had a few hundred Germans coming over to shoot the "Child in Time" clip, right?

Stereotypes are plain stupid, but REALLY stupid are people who use and believe in them. How are your teeth?

  • I thought i knew Deep Purple, but thanks to youtube and some great uploaders, Im discovering so much more and wonderful versions from them.

  • No, no, you guys have to remember this is 1971. Hard rock itself was just now getting defined. Deep purple being proto-metal, it would take the world a little time for them to know "what to do" in a situation like this. After all, look at where they are playing.

  • Go check-out "Deep Purple - Child in Time HD 1970 ( UK TV show ) full version" and you will see the most sedate stunned audience. I don't think they had a clue what they were watching. A mild applause at the end though.

  • deine grosse britische schwanz und grosse rock hoden zehr gut und geil jaaaaaa

  • Comment removed

  • Thats what Blackmore does to you when you see him play, you brain just melts, your jaw hits the floor and your pants just get instantly jizzed...

Then I see crappy Jimmy Page and cant help but laugh at him and his fans...

  • @ordepcbmt LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. No, seriously.

  • @ordepcbmt I will agree that Blackmore is better than Page, but while Page is a little sloppy sometimes he is still a very good guitarist, he had great speed

  • @ordepcbmt Jimmy Page would eat you alive on the guitar bud. No questions asked. Ritchie Blackmore is a sicko too, but Jimmy Page would eat you alive on the guitar.

  • @ultimateguitarwizard and dont forget HE PLAYS WITH AN VIOLIN BOW and was the first one to invent the shredding and tapping ( heartbreaker solo, dazed and confused ) ofcourse i other guitarist perfected it in their own way i like the fact that he was there to do it all first! ritchie was the classical men although i really hate his solo stuff i find him the best after page! to bad he made guitarist like malmsteen or jason becker...

  • It's been well documented that Ritchie and Ian don't get on together. But watching this vid shows that the respect they have for each other is massive. They each know that the other is a genius. All five band members were/are top quality. That's why they've lasted so long. Thank the Lord for giving us Deep Purple

  • For what the germans are saying: (btw: it was a special on a television-exhibition called "Music Today")

4:11 Much to loud, DP. Much to loud.

4:14 Earlier when they startet they used to be much more progressive and things, and now when they make the big money they don't give a shit about their music. They just play the rubbish what the industry dictates. Not their own thing anymore, like Child in Time from In Rock and so on.

  • 4:30 I like DP, I like "Emergency" too, I don't like "Mungo Jerry"...

4:36 I think the whole thing is quite a succes, because the line up of bands quite suits the title "music today".

4:42 Well "Mungo Jerry" always play in the same style "..."

4:47 I'm here to see DP. Solely.

4:50 Well I thought it was shit.

4:51 I have already seen DP two times, and the third time is just to much because they always play the same. They don't improvise as much as other bands.

  • 4:58 DP was actually the best (of the bands)

    5:00 I liked the "Emergency".

5:02 The way it was presented, I would not spend much money for it.

    5:05 DP is shit.

5:07 At most because of "Stone the Crows".

From 5:09 Terrific! - Shredded tremendously. - For thirteen-year-olds. - To much rock(music). - Very nice people here. (Old Man^^)

(Btw I hate it if someone cuts of the edges of old 4:3 tv footage just to fill out the new monitors... there could have been things worth seeing guys! -.-)

  • @Silber7 Shut up.

  • MARK 2 ALL THE FUCKING WAAAAAY

  • 1:19 uffffff que calorrrrrrr jajjajajja

  • Does one of the interviewees say "deep purple scheise"? @ 5:04?

  • Cool. I wish I understood German b/c I'm curious what all those people are saying, especially the old guy. Anybody know German and can help out? Thanks.

  • Deep Purple looks so high in this show, it's hilarious.

  • The very first head bangers!!!!

  • OMG... where are this generations Gillan, Blackmore, Paice and Glover???

  • The guy @6:34 is priceless..:D

  • great video!!! never seen this before.. Thanks!!!

  • Una gran agrupacion, la cancion es un exito...lo recomiendo mucho. Es uno de loa grandes inicios del Rock Metal.

  • finally the original mark II lineup playing demons eye in hd...this is RARE

  • I read somewher that DP is the biggest selling group of all time in Germany. More record sales then Zep, Beatles and the Stones. Is this true? If it is it is really strange that the people interviewed didn't like. They must of thought they were going to an ABBA concert.

  • no dislikes eh? well no surprises there............

  • Ian Gillan has GREAT vibrato, or rather had Great vibrato. Deep Purple In Rock was may favourite Deep Purple album.

  • Blackmore's guitar just howls like the raging winds of wrath!!

  • not the best of them, but still good.

  • watch Ian Gillan Interview December 1970 here on YouTube

  • Ian Gillan Interview December 1970

  • Such a mean and dirty riff... love it, so much attitude.

  • There were no drugs in the 70's: 6:35

  • Quality jam. Blackmore's tone is just gorgeous.

A real treat for the ears this one!

  • Your Deep Purple videos are terrific!

  • Perhaps the birthplace of headbanging

  • @zephranna01 I'm starting to dislike you.

I am not a fool, for a start.

They were "asked to be quiet"???.....

THIS WAS A ROCK BAND PERFORMING.

What sort of Universe do you live in?

    Comprende?

    You f*****g d***k h**d.

  • @jpscoey I take it you are German? -

and you do what you're told all the time?.......

    You robotic, brainless idiot.

There IS such a thing known as passion, you know?

No wonder the only German rock band to ever do anything

significant (The Scorpions) based their set / act, etc

in English - to try and pretend they weren't German.

Idiots like you prove they were right to do so.

  • @jpscoey so you are saying that only because some good bands like deep purple (my favorite band ever) were english, every english person can make god music? and germans can't of course. so show me your band. and if you answer to my comment, try to make it without bad words, that leads to no where, you know? ;)

  • @zephranna01 I understand very well.

I'm a musician myself (in a rock band).

The time & place to get exited

(as a FEW of the audience did) is when a band are rockin'

    You are talking nonsense.

Get real - that audience were sh*t.....

& I'd bet if you asked Deep Purple about it,

they'd say it it was one of their most 'forgettable' gigs.

  • @zephranna01 Yeh - all you wild folks out there "rock on"..... or just go to an opera / ballet, maybe?

  • @zephranna01 What rules?...........

    to pretend to be zombies???????????

Ever watched TV shows like the X-Factor? -

Those folks go crazy over absolute sh*t.

  • @zephranna01 I was going to gigs in the 70's,

& never did I witness such a sterile audience

as the one on this video..... especially for a band

that rocked as Deep Purple did...!!!

  • its obvious the audience are all DEAD ......

    DEEP'PURPLETASTIC !!........

  • @ jpscoey - It's common knowledge that the TV audience during the 70s was "well selected" and not that freaky and exuberant in public as nowadays. My friends and I were great fans of Deep Purple and shouted "Lazy" all over the places in my hometown Cologne, which is well known for their lack of humour especially during the carnival season. Before you continue to spread your prejudices against Germans have a look at "Child in Time" from the BBC Studios in London. Are they all German tourists?

  • @HartmutRast Well said.

  • Gillan is a GOD!

  • I didn't even know Iggy Pop spoke fluent German

  • slyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Early Mark 2.........YES !!!!!!

  • Is this on DVD???

  • @Alvi316 it is, a thing called history, hits, and highlights 68-76. its got most of the historic Purple footage on it

  • Great treasure!

  • great video quality!

  • Ian Paice looks like an athlete!

  • Which song is this album off of? :p

  • @xXNeoShredderXx fireball

  • @lowii237 Thanks just bought it.

  • @xXNeoShredderXx Fireball 1971

  • They are VERY appreciative. You aren't familiar with German cultural demeanor at that time ... Purple's record sales there were phenomenal.

  • this is why deep purple is my favorite band! this is hard rock at its best

  • Love the tech at 5.45 who only manages to turn up the buzz.

  • deep purple...the best one!

  • what re you saying Germans

    translate pls !!!

  • Deep Purple!

  • wish bands like that get the spot light agin some time

  • Gillan Forever!

  • DEEP PURPLE lives forever!

  • 3:28 lol at the girl using her hands to protect her ears...

  • Gillan never disappoints!

  • guitar tone...aaaah!

  • this is awesome!

  • This was in DDR>??

  • neeeever

  • Glover and Lord are laughing they're asses off trying to get the crowd involved.

  • It's unbelievable how 'non-plussed' that German audience look at the obvious brilliance that's in front of them. Their lack of humour is well known, but to lack appreciation of superb music aswell is is mind-boggling!!!

  • @jpscoey Just people they aren't jumping like crazy don't mean they're not appreciating. Europeans generlly tend to be more "serious"

  • @MrLino: For the record - I'm European too. . .

but that crowd looked like they were at a funeral, not a rock gig.

  • @jpscoey yes, i do not know german, but it looks as if they did not like it!. this is amazing, that they were so lucky to hear the best music and masterpieces of 20th century and did not appreciate that. this is mind -boggling..really

  • @jpscoey

  • @jpscoey watch Ian Gillan Interview December 1970 here on YouTube

  • @jpscoey cmon give us a chance :)

i was born far too late (1982)

i had no chance to be there ... to see deep purple live

the german crowd probably was stunned or they just sucked ass these damn lamers

if u understand the comments startin at 4:13 ... the common sense is deep purple sucks

wtf stupid MORONS? ... the band is awesome!

  • @jpscoey i know what your saying, look at similar early zep footage, i think its just "cool" etiquette.

  • @jpscoey germans with a lack of humour ? you must be insane ;)

  • @jpscoey Dude that is the 70's. Watch any live TV show of deep purple anywhere in the 70 s and they are all the same ... Today's german public, with french and european are the greatest

  • @HolyGK it's obvious that you never have seen the south american public ,there's no way to compare the boring european public against the insane crowds in south america, especially in argentina. i recomend you to watch some videos about the argentinian crowds and if you got the chance to go to a rock show, its an unique experience

  • @gabilxc ok show me a link to a video of a south american public in the 60's or 70's....

  • @jpscoey Pure prejudice about germans! Shame on you. Did you ever have thought that this crowed aren't DP fans. Just a TV crowed. Who knows what other bands played that evening.

  • @jpscoey I´m German...and unfourtunatly you absolute right. As we use to say: It´s like giving pearls to the pigs. But some constrctive critics were given from the younger crowds (krauts!) LOL...

  • @jpscoey Ever seen a Genesis concert from the 1970s? Look up on Youtube "Suppers Ready Pt. II,1976" - there's people actually asleep, mouths hanging wide open, while the band is jamming up to a climax. Genesnooze, the critics said. Those same fans though routinely paid money to see the band. Just the way it was.

  • Air condition didn't seem to be so good those days in the studios. The studio is full of people and the hot lights are on, so the guys are exhausted, especially Gillan.

  • wauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Some of those german kids said to the camera "Deep Purple sucks". Really weird. BTW: I'm surprised that such a footage exist. Even Blackmore was acting like a human back then..;-)

  • fuck them they suck deep purple rules.
