You obviously have no idea how much a gram is.A 18 gram doobie would be a half meter blunt-and i highly doubt you would finish off something like that all by yourself.
on YT, you click on something and you're suddenly discovering stuff you totally were oblivious to. like this band and a bunch more that i am surfing thru right now. i've got penciled in, doing nothing but listening to obscure music all day long.
@vidform check out the Dutch progressive rock band from the 70's called ; Focus
The guitarist Jan Akkerman is REALLY good and the singer Thijs van Leer plays the flute like a boss. Just download some of their albums, you wont regret it!
Don't you just love it when rock bands use flutes? Such an amazing combination. Why don't people use flutes like this any more? It sounds so atmospheric. I want to seek out other '60s and '70s bands that have a similar sound. Suck's Season of the Witch does not "suck" at all. lol
I have trawled the backcateloguesof 25y. In Oz we went thru the time when we couldnt play the original on radio without extortionate royalty. We bred a whole music industry off doin covers. Sometimes better than original. Try 'Railroad Gin "
Comes a Time from Brisbane. Suck it up you critics. This is what Rock and Suck is all about . interpration that delivers a zeplinnish feel to a trippy happy Donovan song. Only other good interpration is on Kooper Stills Super Session
I really doubt you roll up over 1/2 ounce into one smoke. Also doubt you finish it alone. Also I KNOW it takes longer than 10mins to burn that much...
I still have this LP. The 3rd one I owned as the other two were confiscated by the Matron and the House Nurse (Ollie and Esterhuizen) at the nurses home where I lived in Cape Town. This is still - to my ears - one of the best versions of "Season of the Witch" I have ever heard.
Ja, "Suck" - it was quite a name back then. And then came Time to Suck. Sheeeesh, what did we do to ourselves back then? We were all mal!
This music brings back memories of 'The Colony' where all the bands would meet up to Jam tog after their stints at the clubs. Those were the Days
Thats SAVVY [the Drummer] on the far right with his cute face and Afro - Brilliant Drummer, used to have extra Drum sticks in the back of his belt, as he used to drum so fast when doing a solo the stick would fly out of his hand - but he managed to get a stick out of his belt and carry on drumming without missing a beat.
Awsome version....also like vanilla fudges....I didn't realize until I looked at the picture that Marty Feldman....the guy with one eye lookin at cha and one eye lookin for ya... was in this band...I believe that is him second from the right. lmao
Never heard of this band until now, very interesting. With so much attention focused on what was going on in Britain or North America at the time it's rare to hear of many of these groups today.
In my opinion, the Racket Squad was one of the greatest groups that came out of Pittsburgh. The lead singer's, Sonny DeNunzio, untimely death was a tragic lost for many reasons. The world lost a great performer and musical innovator.
TRY "DONOVAN"S~ "season of the witch~or if u like early EARLY~PINK FLOYD~ "alb"Meddle"~one entire side of alb has trippy sound like on the moon~70s~!!
I saw SUCK live a few times. Usually more Police than audience. Sometimes a dumbf*ck in the audience would try to assault them. Those were the days! Fighting for peace.
@srhsmoker420 Thats a great catcha upper and even as recently as the time I frisbee'd the neighers cat against the beefier side of a St Bernard named "forget bourben,I'm eatin people"
The drummer is a bad ass, but there is something wrong with the groove in the early part of this probably due to the guitar. they kind of lock in around 2:00. the guitar, bass and flute are all out of tune hehehe.
this isn't as original as you think it is. It sounds like a knock off of King Crimson. Crimson was basically the first prog band in 1969 and they invented the grunge sound even though it wasn't known till the Melvins came about. But they created the primus sound and Tool's sound. It was heavy as fuck with crazy time signatures. This is good but Crimson is better.
True but King Crimson had that experimental/ errie quality like that of the melvins or sonic youth. Also Primus, Tool, many grunge bands (including nirvana) have cited King crimson as a main influence.
@AlbertMondback Could Primus really be The Residents? If they were, what happened to the Fourth Guy? And isn't it strange that their drummer never talks? Co-incidence?? Could be...
And they do Residents covers very close to the source, don't they? Hmmm...
yeah everybody knows it's a cover it doesn't take a genius to figure out. Your quote is off. Also I never said they all suck. You said that. There's a little hypocrisy going on here, you're getting mad because I like a certain band a little more than another and your giving me shit for it. You're doing the same thing There's something wrong, here. Also, at least my comment was respectful and intelligent as oppose to yours. Have a nice life.
@53slyder Been there, done that! (actually that's on side two of "Meddle" but I'm right there with ya.) Obscured By Clouds includes a real stand-out called 'Childhood's End' ~

Not as in influenced by The Residents.
