  • also, can i ask what the meaning of 'hastam' is?

  • hastam= am

in the next lessons, you are going to learn much about subject removing, i.e "hastam" can also represent "I am"

  • @farsiyadbegirim

many thanks for your clip :)

my mother tongue is Zazaki, which is also an Iranian language spoken in turkey ( have you heard?) as our two languages are both Iranian languages we share a lot of basic vocabulary etc... therefore it is fairly straightforward to learn for me... thanks once again and please add more clips, :)))) peace to all iranian speaking peoples

  • salam,

I have watched your video about different iranian languages, very nice,

Yes, I Know your languge Zazaki, and it has lots of vocabularies in common with Farsi. So Farsi would be easy for you to learn,

    shad bashid

  • @zazairanic isn't zazaki a dialect of kurdish????

  • @ocmentos Yes but it is a lot closer to Gorani (Hawrami) than it is to Kirmanji.

  • @zazairanic ahaahha!! kuga mlee!! mamostam be aql han :P LOL that's the only thing i Know and ow Xasii!! I speak i live in Slemani:P proud to be a Kurd and Iranian/Aryan !!!!! Zaza- speaking kurds live in turkey right? i think i heard that the hawrami-zazaki language was the the main language of Kurds in the now Sorani speaking areas but the Sorani dialect later on spread and cut zazas and Hawramis through that's why they are far apart :) i think harami/zaza are much more archaic languages :)

  • @ocmentos ** I speak Sorani and live in Slemani

  • @ocmentos Ma be xêr di! Yes, the Zazas live in eastern Turkey. Zazaki and Gorani are both closely related dialects and do retain many archaic elements which is not found in other Kurdish dialects. As much as I know, Sorani only has a 500 year history. As Arabs arrived, the people of Kordestan (Iran) were Hewrami speakers. In some areas, Hewrami is replaced by a new dialect (Sorani). Wes u war bimane.

  • Ey val damet gam Agha!

  • salam,

actually there is a diffrerence between the first a (sAlam) and the second a (salAm) in the word salam.

the first one is a short A sound and the second one is a long A sound. knowing this is just important if you want to write the word. in case speaking you just need to repeat SUCH WORDS WITH SHORT AND LONG A after me. So you can diffrentiante these two sounds.

    khodafez

    Yousef

  • You nasalize the /a/ before the /m/ in salam [sa 'lã:m], don't you?

  • salam,

merci for your comment, you know, you should be proud of yourself, not every body can say who he is in farsi, now you can say

    man cactusduo hastam:-)

    khodafez

  • Well, actually my real name is Frank, so that would be 'man Frank hastam'. But merci. ;)

  • Ha, I really like your way of teaching! Repeating everything 10 times; that's probably the best way, although it makes me laugh after a few times. But keep up the good work; I will check out your other lessons as well.

  • Tashukr Agha...I need this. You are great.

  • salam be shoma,

    mamnoon for your comment.

Actually it was just a sudden idea to teach Farsi here and I am really happy that many people are interested in learning Farsi through my videos.

I am going to put up more videos and I hope you'll enjoy them.

    ba ehteram( with respect)

    Yousef

  • Salam,

Thankyou for such a fine lesson. You are a natural teacher and your deep sincerity shows well. Please never stop teaching the Farsi language here.

There are so many people who wish to learn this beautiful language that carries a great wealth of wisdom, literature, philosophy and music.

Bless you, and may you have the patience to give hundreds of lessons. Khuda Hafiz.

  • Salam, SHOMA khub hastID?

merci, mamnoon for your compliment, I am glad that my videos are useful for you. I hope, you will learn Farsi as soon, funny and easy as possible:-)

    khoda(ha)fez

    Yousef

  • Hey, great work here. Don't worry about your English, I can understand you perfectly.

This is a great way to teach - very imaginative, and you have a lot of character in your voice. I'm definitely going to be using this series to learn - thanks for putting it up.

    Khoda Hafiz!
