Wow, that's awesome. Me and my dad work with copper in a different way, similar names too, haha, fun. Keep up the great work. I have 1 video up of our work, but ill upload actual footage of us working.
That's a sofa that the cats tore up so it got delegated to the garage. I like it. During the warm months, I like to laze around on it. During the cold months, forget it.
Beau, thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I actually think you can help me with the stamp making. The stamps are just copper sheets cut into 5/8 in strips turned on their sides, shaped around an image and soldered together. What guage would give me a good outline but be pliable enough to cut and shape with hand tools?
Jakado08, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I still don't think I can help you there. Although I will suggest that if you want pliable copper, for sure it must be annealed. Buy SOFT copper. Ask for it by that description: SOFT. Thanks, Beau
Great job! You are a very creative artist. I'd really like to see the finished product. Do you have any resources you can recommend concerning the making of copper tjaps(stamps) for batik designs?
Thanks! Always wonderful to get a vote of confidence. Wish I could help you with the copper stamps. I don't know anything about that, but if you have any questions about brazing, I can help. Thanks again, Beau
Thanks so much. I just saw your response. I have a copper supplier. I buy by the roll. Copper used to be fairly inexpensive. Not so now. I pay around 600 bucks a roll. If you know where I can get copper coil (that's what it's called by the roll) any cheaper, let me know. Thanks, Beau
