@extremelandcruiser we went back to see it again, a huge thunder storm & nothing left but the dinosaur graveyard sign & a few remnants of the store at the end.
Just took a trip down the stretch of Route 66 from Barstow, CA to Flagstaff, AZ... Saw where the inspiration for the movie "Cars" was... A small town called "Peach Springs" that Route 40 Bypassed. We stopped in a small town called Seligman which is still operational... A great find! You can see the "S" on the side of the mountain just like the "RS" in the movie Cars... If you ever get to the southwest- I highly recommend checking it out:)
@scdevon home ranch is gone. a big parking lot for construction trucks now or was last time we passed thru august '09. dance hall , cafe, etc.boarded up or not viewable. cars all gone. only doc's store remains but was/is? for sale.
yeah. nic always notes the rigs parked in out-of-the-way places. revisited home ranch/bosler august '09. it's gone. everything is gone. big road work going on.
in fact it's the radio making that noise. love it. & our van at 330,000 miles made that sad passage again last august. nothing was the same. except maybe the dinosaur graveyard. but because of tremendous thunderstorms & road construction, we couldn't stop to check it out.
and here's one for you, nic is a painter. he's painted plenty of houses, but he's a painter in the sense of artist. and he digs bosler's look as is and is delighted to hear nothing's changed. we both love your plea to America, tho.
why didnt you go to the bones of the dinosores that would have been cool. and also sorry but i think some of those bones were sent to london you know whot us english were like back then we didnt think wede get court good video;]
it would have been cool. we were on our way to nyc & this stretch of the lincoln highway was a rare 'sidetrip' so we didn't get to the graveyard. wish we had now.
that noise dos drive you nuts though i know you said it the radio but it sound like one of those clicker things we used to put on our bikes when we were kids to make them sound like moter bikes did you have them too good luck on your next trip and leave the radio off
you know, the weird thing is, it didn't sound so bad to our ears at the time...maybe the panasonic vidcam exaggerated it...and, i was busy driving & ogling the scene while nic was filming. boy, those old vidcams were big and hefty! point well taken about the clicking. we both pinned cards to bike spokes too once upon a time.
when i lived in that state, there was one, that really, only had foundations, was called winton. all that was left of it was the largest foundation, a hotel, and a couple others, and a small cemetery.
I'm so moving to Wyoming

That sound is annoying. It sounds like you've got a rod knocking and it's seconds away from kickin' a hole in your block.

Nice! Have you considered putting this in for the Wyoming Short
Film Contest? They are offering a $25K first prize, and all
genres are welcome. This'd fit right in :-)
