Heres something for the people actually want to learn about Melee weapons:

All melee weapons can kill any infected (except tank, witch or charger) in one hit. A Charger takes 2, Witch 4, and tank 10!

Some, like the guitar and the golf club have slightly longer ranges, and the night stick has a faster swing time.

Cool factor? No, each melee weapon has different stats, for example: Frying pan has a short arc of swing but it can hit more rapidly, or the Fire axe has a long arc of swing but has a short "reload" before you can make another hit.

I love all weapons in L4D2, but usualy I choose

Assault (AK, Scar) & Sniper rifles with FireAxe or Dual Pistols. Or some other melee weapon like Katana, sometimes - Crowbar, Frying pan.

This is bs, Cricket bat, baseball bat, frying pan, baton, and crowbar are also great melee weapons when you dont have a katana or machete on hand.

Axe is ok too, but its got some lag on its swing so it can be tricky when getting mobbed.

Im noticing some very subtle differences in many of the L4D2 weapons that ends up making more of a diff in high level Vs play, then i would have thought at first. (The accuracty diff between the two auto shottys for example.)

according to l4d wiki all melee weapons do pretty much the same damage so the baton is the best (besides the chainsaw) because it's the fastest. i heard the chainsaw does less damage then the baton on expert due to nerfing but i'm not sure

Its proven that every melle weapon has it only damage, the machete is one of the most powerful but the "Baton" is the most powerfull. While you kill a tank with 23 slashes of the Machete, with the Baton is only 18, so thats a big diference!

Has the same amount of damage. The only diffrence is that the frying pan has less distance, the machete has less range and the tonfa (the batons REAL name dipshits) has faster attack speed.

But still, if i had to choose anyone i would pick the katana.

(besides the chainsaw which takes 4 seconds on normal) they left out the other melee weapons because they are playing the demo and in the demo, u can only play on "the parish" campaign which only has those melee weapons. but they left out the chainsaw.

I love teh Machete too, it's awesome, but there is katana too, awesome too. But I think machete is better. I also like the quitar. And you know why there is lot of melee weapons?
