AGREED! I'm still on my PS2 at the moment (PAL & JP) for all the SNK collections that keep pouring out! (KOF '02 Unlimited Match on the way and also an ADK compilation, oh yeah... and FATE Unlimited Codes looks pretty good too!) I'm holding out on a PS3 JUST FOR KOFXII & SFIV (Whichevers out 1st) and then thats more or less it!! Would probably get Tekken6 & VF5R - if it get released, fingers crossed. Hoping the White PS3 might be available here in the UK too by the time I buy one (doubt it tho)

It already looks better than 3S, which was the best looking 2D fighting game before this one. The sprites are like 6x the resolution, and there are more frames of animation.

given the CvS history and rivalry, it's probably best that they didn't take the MotW route for their comeback this time. And there are still plenty of SF fans upset about the 2.5D graphics. While I'm not one of them, this game looks promising to me. you may just be missing out.

new engine, new sprites, new everything means little core roster... for now. Sequels that use the previous engine and/or sprites have the saved resources to have a roster of 30 plus. Even SFIV is struggling to break 25.

KoF-13 (and SFV) will have about 36 in comparison.

From Experience I would say, it will take a while, mabe even a new consolegeneration till there is a street fighter 5. There might be other sf IVs like they did with previous Games (SF 3, 2nd Impact, 3rd Strike).

well from Ono's mouth, the producer of SFIV, the console release will be there 2nd edition or "SF4.5", his words. From experience, It's not cost effective for them to make multiple versions of the same game anymore so no turbo-hyper-strike-max-impact. So after the console release, Ono plans to put another title on that engine (like Dark Stalkers) and then combine SFIV with SF3 for SFV. That is pretty much what (SSF2T + SFA2=) SFA3 was after all.

It amazes me how this game looks exactly like an anime! Such detail in a hand-drawn 2D fighter is truly innovative and is an excellent alternatve to "3D character models." Hmph! The nerve of those who say 2D fighting gaming can't evolve!
