The F-35 will be able to launch from a carrier, vertically and from a run way. F-35 is a multirole fighter so it can do ground attack, reconnaissance, jamming, and air to air. F-35 can do more.

Sorry to say but, the Raptor is better than the JSF. The JSF is a waste of money. It does not have the speed, the manueverability or the ability to do half of what the Raptor can do. It is a giant waste of money in my opinion considering it cant carry half of what it needs to to get the job done.
I would place the SU-37 terminator higher. It mat not be that versatile, but it is an amazingly maneuverable interceptor and, well, terminator. But then you didn't even mention the forward swept wing SU-47 Berkut. But all in all, THANKYOU for not confusing the migs with the SUs. I've seen this done countless times and it irks me to the bone.
That being said, for bang for the buck and average operational and maintenance costs. I would go, F-15K, F-16E/F, Mig-35, Su-35 or 37, F-14Dplus(long range capability with Phoenix missile) J-15.

The F-18 is easier to maintain because it doesnt have swept wings. The F-14 has the best verticle of any aircraft without TVC and can almost do a cobra. By far one of the greatest planes to ever be designed and could easily handle most of all modern fighters with its advanced avionics and radar.

@m3gtr35 They fought against legacy versions of the F-16. The F-16 E-F would eat the rafale up. Their radar capabilities would own it in BVR and the F-16 is capable of downing Mig-29's. That is a single engine eating up a dual engine aircraft. That says alot about the capabilities of the F-16.

PAK-FA is not even a option. It doesn't even qualify as a fighter! They have a long way to go. Maintaining stealth ability after adding all avionics equipment including antennas and other parts which will protrude from the airframe is a big obstacle, and one that took the US years to accomplish. So wake up douchebag and be a little realistic because right now PAK-FA is just a stealthy plane with no systems at all.
Same for F35. F22 is as twice as good as F35 and Supehornet does not deserve a 3rd place at all. SU35 beats F/A 18 every time Where is Dassault Rafale?

I would place the SU-37 terminator higher. It mat not be that versatile, but it is an amazingly maneuverable interceptor and, well, terminator. But then you didn't even mention the forward swept wing SU-47 Berkut. But all in all, THANKYOU for not confusing the migs with the SUs. I've seen this done countless times and it irks me to the bone.

@TheTranceSeeker Are you serious? The only reason the F-14 is still not in service is its maintenence. It is just as manueverable as the F-18. The F-18 is easier to maintain because it doesnt have swept wings. The F-14 has the best verticle of any aircraft without TVC and can almost do a cobra. By far one of the greatest planes to ever be designed and could easily handle most of all modern fighters with its advanced avionics and radar.

@m3gtr35 They fought against legacy versions of the F-16. The F-16 E-F would eat the rafale up. Their radar capabilities would own it in BVR and the F-16 is capable of downing Mig-29's. That is a single engine eating up a dual engine aircraft. That says alot about the capabilities of the F-16.

PAK-FA is not even a option. It doesn't even qualify as a fighter! They have a long way to go. Maintaining stealth ability after adding all avionics equipment including antennas and other parts which will protrude from the airframe is a big obstacle, and one that took the US years to accomplish. So wake up douchebag and be a little realistic because right now PAK-FA is just a stealthy plane with no systems at all.

The F-35 is a Multi-role high tech replacement for the F-16 that is good at everything but not great at anything. Thats why we are exporting them to many countries!!! @reindenaab Not true at all. F22 is far superior to the F35JSF. The reason they didn't build more is simply because of how expensive they were. Over 120 million per jet. Not to mention, over 50% of the jets capabilities will never be used. Humans weren't designed to think fast enough, nor withstand the physical aspect of the jet.

Yea good picks but, the F-22 and F35 can not be rated! Both planes never been in real combat.. only simulated combat. The F-15C and F-15E are still USA's #1 fighter. Until the F22 and F35 goes to Iraq or any other war to see what they really can do. Sorry But airshows and Simulated testing is not enough to rate a fighter jet I think the A-10 should be in the top picks. Yes the plane is slow and ugly. It is very powerful, very maneuverable, and very hard to shoot down.

@kamphwagon1 first of all the Raptor was not suppose to run the cost it is but, because idiots cut back from the orignal amount of planes to be made the price went up significantly. Every aviation program on a fighter has issues that need to be worked out and this is why the F-22 is still being worked on. I guess you forgot to look that one up. If it was canceled no upgrades would be going on on the raptor and yet they are still upgrading the bird.

@BBEEAANN1 The F22 craptor was shelved for cost overuns, seems like some one got the bright at lockeed if they spread the work around the states they could avoid cancelation by haveing congressmen on their side .jobs in their states. when parts came in they were out of tolerence ,and had to be re fited ,depending on the stage of completion some parts were either made smaller or larger one of the reasons the AF didn't whine about it ,lack of uniformity among A/C and matinence problems to boot !

@kamphwagon1 gee wonder why, the foxbat is designed to do mach 3 and it can outrun missles. It was designed to catch the Blackbird, not dogfight. That is the only plus the MIG25 has. The MIG-25 also burns its engines out if it runs that fast for to long. This is a known issue with Russian engines. I see you ingored the comment about the information you stated about the F-15 not being a copy of the MIIG-25 since it was in the air 4 years before the US got their hands on it, gg
