  • very cool man but i would chop the wheels, that plane went forward 10-15 inches upon startup.

  • very coll man but i would chop the wheels, that plane went forward 10-15 inches upon startup.

  • The forced question is it Can fly????

  • look like a perfekt plane to cruise in ground effect across some water?

  • Damn!!!!!!!!!! It so nearly chopped him up into bits when the swung that prop! Ummmmm chocs would have been a gr8 idea me thinks lol

  • Nice little plane, looks like you could fly it by remote control.

  • Yeah Isaw this once in a cartoon. I think it was Foghorn Leghorn convinced the Chickenhawk to put wings on a lawnmower and bomb the dog.

  • Ufff! Starting that engine, you almost have to build your dad again. Be careful.

  • you know the way you start the engine may kill yourself !!

  • as an update, my dad sold the plane, he never flown it...hopefully the new owner in Cali will take it to the sky!

  • @arkafon79 thats too bad man! Not that hard to learn how to fly honestly, if you take 1lesson you'd have no problem flying in summertime (without allot of wind etc)

    Nice plane anyways man ;)

  • It's like a dragon fly!! they should have called it the dragonfly.

  • IT is a beautifull plane, But i really dont want to be in there after a couple of hard landings. How much can that wing stand!!!?

  • @Ebdan88

You can stand on a Quickie wing and it will barely flex. It's a very strong fiberglass, epoxy composite covering a foam core.

  • Where's the Flux Capacitor in the cockpit?

  • did it ever fly successfully.

  • that's das flugzeug

  • holy shit id have to put an electric starter, after seeing a sheepo ripped up in a piper pawnees prop i do not ever wish to hand start a prop

  • yes it is the original 18HP ONAN

  • arkafon79

Which engine is he using? The original Onan?

  • kit airplane ? believe it or not, i find it easier and more exciting to build one from scratch .... well i havent ever made one, but god willing, i start making one by summer 2011... cant wait for the project to begin ......... nyways... ur dad must hav been glad when the whole kit was put together

  • manually starting a prop plane without chocks!

  • @ADVANCEDHUMANOID I t's obvious that you are not very observant......take a look again and you'll see that the tailwheel was tied to an anchor of some type.

  • sorry , no way to fly this..looks like accident already happened!

  • @GRATZIANI2002 what?

  • @GRATZIANI2002 And yet in the world of people that know the facts, this aircraft is AWESOME!!

  • Very nice craftsmanship! Especially the cockpit, very sanitary.

  • im wanting to bild one do you know where i can buy a quickie airplane at

  • i am not really sure, as far as i know, the kits havent been made since 90s. my dad actually is looking to sell the one in the video, so let me know if you are interested

  • how much?

  • Quickies are from kits or plans. Therefore you didn't build it 'from scratch'. Nice try though.

  • i am very happy that you are extremely diligent. indeed you are correct, Quickies come in kits, and my dad bought an 'in progress' kit 2 years ago. i dont think the intention is to fool people, so no reason to be hostile

  • @arkafon79 Good reply sir, I don't know why some people have to such smart alecs.

  • @arkafon79 Good reply sir, I don't know why some people have to be such smart alecs. Very nice little airplane by the way.

  • Awesome looking bird, great job! I never saw anyone hand prop a plane that way but good idea, you can't get whapped that way!

  • damn nice bird I should know I built two!

  • great! this plane is almost done, my dad now is adjusting the engine. anything that you would advise him on? appreciate any ideas and comments! thanks

  • Get at least 40 hours of tailwheel time. Then taxi about 5 hours.

  • thanks!

  • where can you buy a quickie airplane at?

  • My dad built one of these, and he had to modify the motor because the 28hp was not enough

  • yeah, the original one that my dad has is actually 18hp, and with that one, you need a really really long landing strip for take off. I think he will eventually get a 40hp engine for it.

  • Hi arkafon79 my dad almost met his maker his super Q ya he had a little superman symbol after the vw engine mod. He also made vort

  • do u have to bild a quickie

  • clever idea - a hand saver for propping. Never heard of it but it looks to work well.

  • Hmm you have to manually start the engine, what if it stops in middle air ?:\

  • you pull out the Bible and start praying I guess

  • @cosminx2003 You get out and restart it, or you can call AAA....... what else?

  • It's a job well done and good luck for the future - please watch that throttle position and chock those wheels - 1/4 inch more throttle and you going to be sushi, many many people where killed in the second world war like that.

  • Beautiful~~I want pay my admiration to the developer

  • Nice plane, but why do the nav lights flash? In the U.S., I don't believe you'll get the plane licensed unless they're steady "on."

  • well i guess my dad made it by mistake, not knowing real regulations.

thanks for pointing it out, he will fix it.

  • thanks for the comments...the plane has not yet been flown or certified, sadly.

    maybne this year

  • That's an amazing job. I'd love to see a vid of that plane flying. How long ago was it built? Has it been certified yet? Flown? My dreamplane used to be a Quickie, like your Dad's but now I need a plane that lets me share flying with someone. So the Q200 is my choice.

  • BEAUTIFUL work on this plane :)

    I am most impressed!
