  • instead of making videos return the gun silly bear

  • try call customer service para original owner get lifetime warranty here is there phone number 704-930-7600

  • I you mentioned was correct! I bought a Para P-13 Limited here in the Philippines and its has a VERY POOR QUALITY! I think we should put up a website for "POOR QUALITY MADE PRODUCTS FROM CANADA" It's a waste of money! I should buy COLT Gold Cup instead!

  • I had this same pistol. The magazine would fall out of the gun randomly at the range. I sure hope all their guns aren't like this.

  • @thedrod

You probably got the same bad batch of frames that were out of spec.

  • Have owned a PARA hi cap 1911 and standard ....after they both failed.... and dealing with the Para's customer service ....i wont ever buy one again .

  • It sounds like Para has made all efforts to remedy your problem and you still haven't made a video showing the new frame working flawlessly as you claim. Make a video with the new frame. So people don't come away with the idea that Para Ordnance only makes junk pistols and realize that 98 percent of their products work just fine...........

  • @TheZilla1

I've been quite busy and I've been holding off making a new video until I have a better camera and editing tool that does what I need. It was a little rough in the beginning of its feeding as the new frame had to go through break-in to smooth over the gap between the ramp on the barrel and the frame, but so far has run like a champ.

The problem now is that the magazine that worked in the original frame now doesn't drop free, and the finish is going. Need to get those fixed.

  • there is an easy fix fort his, take a dremmel tool and shave a bit of the top of the slot opening on the magazine where it locks into the gun, i just got a limited S14-45 and had the same problem with my mags from my original P14-45 did that to all my mags and all 16 of them work good now

  • @naji11

Yes, that could work, but getting the frame replaced at Para worked just as well and now all the magazines work. Except for the 1 magazine that worked in the bad frame.... that one works, but doesn't drop free. I can live with that however and if I send the gun back to Para for service again I'll get that mag checked too.

  • i have been looking for a video of the "super hawg" can you help me?

  • If i may why did you buy the gun then?

  • the magazine follower jumps over the small triangle i have tried other new magazines and it does the same thing. I bought a new slide stop and should be getting it in the mail today or tomorrow. hopefully it will get the problem resolved.

  • Yup the new slide stop got my gun working great. Now to head to the shooting range for a real test!

  • I have the Para Ordinance 1911 Gun Rights Pistol. My problem is that the chamber doesnt stay open after the last round. I talked to the guys at Para and they told me to send it back but i dont want to wait for 6 freaking months. I wonder if a gunsmith can fix it?? Does anyone else have this problem??

  • I had the same thing happen on my new P-14 Limited 1 year ago. Sent it back at thier request. Problem solved but then the ejector came loose off the frame. Sent that back. They said it was repaired, shot 50 rnds. same prob. Requested different gun. That was 12 mos. ago. Got a brand new Carry 12. Loved it untill the extractor broke on the 12th rnd. Sent that back today. Try a gunsmith first.

  • buff the ramp, that fixed mine...

  • did you every get it fix ?

  • @helldog134

Do you have annotations turned on?

It got sent to Para, stayed for 5 months because of the factory move, and sent back to me. All magazines work now, ironically the only one that gives me issue now is the one that worked at the end of this video (doesn't drop free).

But everything else works fine and it's getting up there in the round count without issue as I told Jacksureshot below.

  • this is why you dont get double stack 1911 style weapons, they are not as proven, and even a bigger factor, you get a sig, or a colt or kimber

  • So far the replaced frame has survived 600 rounds through it without issue.

I initially wasn't going to get a 1911 at all. I was going to get a Glock or other polymer pistol until I actually went to the range and fired a number of guns, of which I had the best accuracy with the 1911.

But a single stack is a single stack, and no matter how much you mod your gun it will always be a single stack. The big reason to go double was so I wouldn't have to relearn my grip if I ever wanted more rounds.

  • @Spiner1105 as they say, the round that counts most is the first one. make that count and you wont need the rest. you gotta love the 1911 platform. I own sigs, glocks, you name it, but none are as accurate as the 1911.

  • Man, i would be FREAKIN OUT if i was you! poor guy.

  • that story of the rep jerkn ya around sounds the same as mine with FNH keep on his ass or itll take 5 months like mine did

  • any of you have problems whit bullets gettin jammed on the chamber?

im having lots of them, the magazines should hold 14 rds but i can only fit 10 TOO TIGHT

  • Bad magazine release???

Also I am a bigger fan of all steel.

I have a few 1911's myself but I have yet to try a double stack 1911

  • As the annotation says in the beginning, it was the frame.

They said it was technically in spec, but at the looser part of the spectrum while most of the mags were at the tightest. This is why 1 of them worked reliably when the others didn't.

Either way, I'm getting a new frame. Which is fine by me because after the waiting period I noticed an idiot mark near the slide release that wasn't there when I first had to sign for it.

Couldn't prove anything, but I didn't use that FFL ever again.

  • Get the full stainless steel mag PARA with out the plastic extension after market ones suck dont waist your time I have the stainless steal and they all work good.

  • I live in a restricted capacity state. Not my choice to have the plastic bases.

I'll switch them out with the full ones later when I move.

  • WHY WOULD PARA MOVE TO THE STATES!!!!!!!!!!

one little thing that i love about para ordnance is that it says "made in canada" on it. that's ok its not too late to get one that does!! This is why canada never goes anywhere, everything good we have ends up moving to the US!!. if obama doesnt screw up too bad ill prolly move to the states simply so i can conceal carry. I hate this country for its absolute bullshit gun laws. our semi auto rifles are pinned to a max of a whopping 5 rounds!!!

  • the poeple let it happen

  • what do you mean?

  • "I hate this country for its absolute bullshit gun laws" the people vote these jokers in.... we dont fight enough for these rights.

  • I agree!! Unfortunately these "jokers" were already pulling this nonsense long b4 i was old enough to vote for them.

  • so did u get your pistol fixed? does it accept all those magazines now? This pistol seems like the right one for me but if this issue is common for this pistol and cannot be fixed then ill have to look for something else i guess =(

  • Still waiting. Para Ordnance is moving from Canada to the U.S. so they're behind on their orders right now.

I can't guarantee what your experience will be. But for the price it is hard to beat if it works.

  • Actually they have already moved. They had already moved the operation to South Florida years ago. (Ft. Lauderdale) Made in Canada, but built in Florida. My Para LTC .45 is stamped under the barrel "Made in Canada" but on the frame is say's Para Ordnance, Ft. Lauderdale, florida.

    I'm still waiting on my Para-Usa, 1911 GI Expert .45, .

The new Guns have the North Carolina on the frame.

Great guns. Best thing out of Canada is "RUSH" Just kidding Canadian youtubers!! But i do love that band!!

  • It was the explanation given to me by the rep in May of this year, so who knows what's really going on.

  • i think your pistols magazine release/catch needs a bit of tuning.

  • sorry one more thing does pistol use p-14 magazines?

  • Yes. It's essentially a 14-45 with a lightweight frame and arched mainspring housing.

  • No.

I already had the gun sent to the repair shop at Para where they said the frame was at fault.

Take it as you will, but I suggest you test ANY gun you buy thoroughly within the warranty to make sure it works properly before modifying it.

  • what alloy is the frame made from? also do you know if any other parts on this pistol are made from an alloy or polymer? Im looking to buy one of these and making it as light as possible.

  • Frame: An aircraft-grade aluminum alloy.

The slide is steel, but aside from the polymer grips, trigger shoe and mainspring housing, the rest of the parts seem to be metal.

  • thnaks for the review, I was looking into buying one but I think I will go with glock they seem not to have that many problems, What do you think?

  • I had tried out various guns at the shop before making my pick. I liked the 1911, but I'm not planning to live in a restricted state forever and wanted a gun that I could grow with.

STI was the optimal choice, but upon feeling the grips of the frames I realized that of all the double stack 1911s, the Para was actually better for me because I could hit the mag release and access the other controls without shifting my grip like with the standard 1911s .

  • At $650 just after Obama won the election, the Para was less than half the price of an STI with lots of features I wanted as stock, extended thumb safety, stainless controls, 3-dot sights, full-length guide rod, skeletonized hammer, hi-capacity, lightweight... looking damned good was a nice perk too.

Aside from the magwell problems and the finish wearing in months instead of years, I will happily keep the gun once it comes back, and if they made a version with a rail, I might get that too.

  • In the end, I suggest that you get what feels best in your hands in the correct position... and that you can actually shoot naturally.

I have small hands, but I shot better with a 1911 on my first try than I did with a revolver or glock.

  • what is the is the trigger pull? thx

  • bout 5 pounds. The series 80 design adds a little more linkage, but the trigger seems to be adjustable via a screw in the bottom.

I wouldn't mess with it though unless I knew what I was doing.
