@DranweRagetotem I have seen a diagram ofthe JS-3's armor design; the 110mm PIKE was angled at 56 deg upper glacis so thats close to 200mm theoretically and the side armor was claimed to be 220mm - looks like its a myth given 150mm seems to be more reasonable! Whats interesting with the JS-3 is that its hull was of Rolled Plate while the earlier JS tanks were cast armor; and the JS-3 was actually not just a refinement of the JS-2 but also revolved on improving the '34's tank armor phillosophy!

@DranweRagetotem A 1950's report by the Soviet officials actually revealed glaring flaws on the JS-3 tank was that while the 110mm PIKE was impressive propaganda for the West the factory revealed severe welding problems at the seams and other than unreliable engines (JS-3 tanks in the desert didn't do so well) the JS-3 retainedthe problem with the JS-2 in WWII unfortunately :(
