I bought some of this stuff back in 2000. It's just beer that was dyed blue. Not bad though. However, get ready for a surprise the next day. Everyone that had it has blue poop! No kidding.

Why do they say that Romulan Ale is considered illegal?

In the series Star Trek, it was banned in the United Federation Of Planets because of it's "powerfull kick". But i'm sure the ale you can buy from Vegas isn't that strong.

Not just for it's "powerful kick" but because it's also made by Romulans and as you know the UFP and the Romulan Empire aren't exactly on good terms. Yeah, I've actually tried the stuff and it isn't that strong.
