Several actresses played Betty Boop. Helen Kane, however didnt but was probably a big inspiration for the character as was probably actress Clara Bow.
Regardless, Helen is wonderful and i love her singing style!
Ironically, Helen Kane once played Betty Boop in a live action short for the Fleischer brothers, then, a few years later, sued them for stealing her image. (Obviously, she didn't mind that the Fleischers studio created Betty in her image...so long as she got paid)

@TEFLON434 They pulled what ever they could to win. From what I see it is obvious they stole her look and style of singing and performing. Whether or not kane stole that scat line from a practical unknown person doesn't negate that they also stole from kane and Baby Esther since she was given no credit either for Betty. It is hard to prove that kane even knew who Baby was let alone stole from her. Id have to see Baby, from seeing kane and betty its obvious they stole her likeness.
yes you are correct, that is why when she sued in 1934 the creators brought Clara bow into the picture becuse kane looks a little simuler to clara bow, the hair style, the eyes
But betty boop was a full Imitation of helen kane, becuse Grim natwick used her Picture, and actually her voice aswell
