  • Great execution of one of the greatest guitar solos by Dave Davies.

  • Actually the first recorded version of Hello I Love You was in 1965, and it was more "60's style" than the final version..

But I love both songs ;)

  • fantastic performance. i love Ray Davies energy.

  • Of course this Kinks song dates from 64 and the Doors one from 68

  • @CionnaithMacRitchie Could be. The "bedroom" chorus today would be very conservative comparing decades.

  • Kinks=Plant

  • Here is a cover of this song by Varka (Ukrainian singer).

  • Remember when the chorus was "girl I'd like to sleep with you in the bedroom"? They had to change it to "girl I want to be with you all of the time".... Times, they are a changing. : {

  • @privatei2020 you think this is a recent version?

  • the guitar riff in this song sounds like "hello i love you"

  • I thought the same thing when I heard the version of The Stranglers. And not only the riff, the whole refrain sounds like The Doors' " Hello, I love you". And noone ever noticed?

  • what a choon eve 40 years later still an anthem in my eyes!!!

  • Pure gritty garage from the tone deaf punks from Muswell Hill!! Actually , Ray Davies went on to write some of the most melodic songs in R&R.

  • Pure class, yeah that missed chord proves its live

I sometimes take my epiphone out on gigs but im terrified it gets hurt lol

  • those epiphone casino's could really rock in the hands of those bands back then... someone needs to pick one up again in these days and times

  • This reminds me of one of The Doors songs... It had the same chord structure. But whitch was first?

  • this

  • one of the best rocksongs ever!!!! cheers

  • Still as awesome as ever!

  • Oops, Dave hits a wrong chord at 1:08 watch his reaction.

  • What the Kinks lacked in musical ability, they made up for with attitude. LOL

  • Yeah, and you gotta love the live performances, rather than that lip sync shit!

  • Excelent garage rock..

the strokes are like kinks but in different ages

  • I'll never get bored of that opening riff! BA-WAAAW, WA-BAAAW, BA-WAAAW-WA-WA-WAAAW! Fucking through the roof! So simple, so rudimentary, but so, so powerful.

  • Possibly rocks first "heavy metal" song

  • not heavy metal, hard rock possibly

  • I'd even say more proto-punk, like a lot of early Kinks and early Who sounds to me. Great stuff!

  • and Gooners as well...

  • this is smart cos its Live. and i bet they were stoned. look at the hair if u dont believe it. Peace and love to you all.

  • dude, the kinks never got the respect they deserved. they were so awsome.

  • this song freaking rocks so much it makes my dick hard

  • Oooh, baby...! :-P

  • U r a nauseating freak

  • You are an uptight, anal ass. I was paraphrasing a Richard Pryor joke but obviously your mommy didnt let you listen to him. Now go say ten hail marys and you will be forgiven for reading my post.

  • My dear little friend, I knew Richard Pryor, so shut up and by, the way, grow up.

  • Grow up? You reacted to my comment in ten seconds so you must be glued to your computer-no life hey. What is growing up for you? Making blatant judgements of internet comments? I bet you live in grandma's basement. Ouch...the truth hurts hey? Nothing better to do? Yeah, you knew Richard Pryor and I made love with your mother. Both are lies but I had a better chance with your mom than you had of knowing Pryor. You need to get a real life.

  • OMG you have Vanilla Ice saved as a favorite. Ice Ice baby. I apologize for my comments. I feel so bad. I did not realize I was talking to a mentally disabled person. Please forgive me. Remember we are all winners.

  • YOU bet I live in Grandma's basement?????????????

You little fucking twit I AM Grandma ----- LOL

and I DID know Richard Pryor, and I have a very real

life, my lttle one, stop being so hostile.

  • This song has a great sound... proably the early form of the grunge sound. I like it!!!

  • actually its mod

  • Definitely one of the greatest bands of all time (TOP 10 FOR ME), to bad all recordings of them suck (the CD's too).

  • I hear the beginning of "Tired of Waiting for You" at the end of this. Do you have that video also?

  • I hear the beginning of "Tired of Waiting for You" at the end of this. Do you have that video also?

  • british invasion ruled... so much great talent came to U.S.

  • Yeah!!! Mods!!!!Kinks!!!Rock & Roll!!!

  • Anybody got the film of when Anette Funicello introduces them?? Please post.

  • So cool - yes they do rock!

  • Sensas !!

  • mods rule

  • Kinky music you can't beat it

  • The Kinks rule!

  • Excellent!

  • I love the kinks...they are definitely the most british of all the british invasion bands.

  • sweet

  • This is cool. Usually on these tv shows in the 60s the music was pre-recorded, but on this one it's live. Very cool to see.

  • Dave missed a chord on the second chorus and he smiled

  • Yeah, that's what I said, isn't it really great?!!!!!!

  • actually epiphone was bought by gibson

  • ArloGuthrieFan you have no idea what your talking about. all three beatles john paul and george played epiphone casino's john played his right up to the end

  • They also played rickenbackers especially in the early years. And Paul was a bass player :) he played a Hofner!

  • Love 1960's rock n roll music! :)

  • I love Dave's smile when he miss a chord, at 1:10 minutes

  • You're right billqbq, it's an Epiphone, sorry for the mistake

  • Thank you:)!

  • Agreed with Wenceslas, Village Green... is one of the most beautiful albums....ranks up there with Pet Sounds.

  • they rule rock

  • I love the Rickenbacker sound. I am pretty sure that is what Dave is playing.

  • I think it's rather a Gretsch

  • He's playing an Epiphone. It was and is a Gibson knock off (by Gibson itself), but the Beatles played them in '66 and didn't do too badly.

  • Actually, The Beatles played Rickenbackers and Hofners. Not Epiphones.

  • You gotta see the whole career, not just Beatlemania (1964). Look at:http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.nk.rim.or.jp/~tadatk/guitars/texan.GIF&imgrefurl=http://www.nk.rim.or.jp/~tadatk/guitars/epiphone.html&h=28&w=58&sz=3&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=1s8LqXcaAKap2M:&tbnh=28&tbnw=58&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbeatles%2Bepiphones%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff

  • Great big guitar sound

  • cute! they rock

  • great stuff

  • I love the screams.

  • theyre a neat band to watch

  • I love this song, but if you have never listen to the most beautiful album of the world "The Kinks are the village green preservation society", well you can't die in peace!!

  • The hair is where its at this song rocks!

  • yeeees, rocks!

  • The opening riff sounds like a prototype for The Hives, Vines, etc.

  • I love that little solo dave does

  • that puts an end to the discussion if sessioneer jimmy page played solo on the studio recording of this!

  • What a song!

  • kinks rule
