  • You drive a piece of shit crown vic Surrynet. By the way, it's spelled Vacuum not Vacumn. Fucking retard. Is this what you spend your time doing? Being a mechanic obviously hasn't taught you how to spell. I also spent 15 years at Chevrolet and now work for a government agency as a marine mechanic so big fucking woopdy doo. Ass face. Oh by the way, fuck off again.

  • Why do people continue to call their power plants "MOTORS" ?. They are "ENGINES". Motors are either electrical or vacumn motors, if it uses some sort of fuel to make combustion, it's an internal combustion "ENGINE" case in point do they say "GENTLEMAN START YOUR MOTORS" or do they say "GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES"?. I guess by being a mechanic for one of the big 3 for over 30 years I "LEARNED THE DIFFERENCE " between motors and engines.

  • @surrynet i argue that all the time thank you for realizing it

  • @surrynet you say potato

  • @surrynet thats Why do they call it motor oil, and motor city then? Are you telling me in 30 years you've never looked up the definition of the words "motor" and "engine?"

Motor - something, such as a machine or engine, that produces or imparts motion.

Engine - a machine that converts energy into mechanical force or motion.

An engine is just a specific kind of motor, according to the definition of each word there is very little real difference which is why people so often interchange them.

  • @Warblade118 Moters are electric, engines are gas.

  • @stitch7777 Okay, then tell me were can I find engine oil because all I can find is motor oil. lol

The word "motor" is just a generic term for something that produces motion, like an electric motor. An engine is a kind of motor, hell you're legs on a bicycle could be considered a motor.

And yes, in general electric or hydraulic power sources are called motors and gasoline or diesel power sources are called engines but you would not be incorrect in calling engines motors.

  • @Warblade118 Correct also, but I am correct also. The way I was taught way back when was, Electric was a motor, gas was an Engine. Funny what you say about engine/motor oil. So true lol. Oh and BTW, I never did say you was wrong man. I get the jist :D

  • @stitch7777 I was taught the same thing. But what they teach in school is kinda how the industry views the words "motor" and "engine." If your speaking strictly within the terms of the industry then yes, a motor is electric and an engine is gas/diesel..... except that oil is called motor oil, and Detroit is called motor city.

    D'oh! 0.o

Seems to me even the industry isn't too consistent on the words.btw I had a pretty good argument with my instructor about all this.

    Guess who won. >:(

    lol

  • oh and then there's the fact that drag racing, as well as all other kinds of racing are motorsports. And the fact that there's General Motors, the Ford Motor company, etc. Honestly, how many things can you think of that use the word motor instead of engine despite the fact that we're all taught motors are electric/hydraulic. It's pretty funny when you think about it. lol

  • @Warblade118 It is very funny. The word tricks that are played are odd and funny. The english language is a complicated one, thats for sure lol. And its my 1st lang. Born and raised in Maryland live in PA now. The way things are spoken just 18 miles over the mason dixon line is different from below it. Funny stuff.

  • @Warblade118 Haha, funny on the argument thing. :)

  • @stitch7777 Yeah, I learned an important lessen that day. The instructor is always right, ESPECIALLY when he's wrong!

  • shame that tyhis is "RI RES"

  • nice job

  • nice

  • sweet!!

  • ahh man dude thats gorgous i also own a camaro but 76 currently in the process of being restored my motor choice bigblock with either 10-71 or 14-71 half gas half racing fuel...wih4-5 inch exhuast... u got any advice for me? im 18 yrs old and i wanna be able to compete in racing

  • If it were me I would call "Speedamotive" racing engines in Ca. and order a blown 540 or something similar. They can build you a turn key motor cheaper and better than you can build one from scratch. Be prepared to spend at least 10K. As for the exhaust, 4" would be the absolute largest I would even imagine going and that's even a stretch. You need some backpressure. Too large is not a good thing. Find some "knowledgeable" people to get the right ideas and suggestions. Good luck to you.

  • @Blown502PurpleCamaro on the exhaust thing. I would run 3 inch mandrel bent tubing and Cherry Bomb Extreme mufflers. The mufflers will give a real loud but deep sound

  • thanks dually. I love the old studes myself. if i ever do another car, that would be my choice. if i get the balls this winter, my buddy with the blown vega and myself are taking a trip to the chassis dyno.

  • god damb thats bad ass!!! i got a blown 502 like that in a 1951 studebaker commander but its not running yet

    nice vid!
