Actually Ulquiorra was forced to kill his "family" before he joined aize he wandered hueco mundo as a naturally born vasto lordes(like the top3 espada he was a vastos) and he searched for something to fill his "void" he felt nothing and what his eyes saw were nothing and he finally found something that interested him. he NATURALLY became and arrancar and his past and the end of the chapter clearly confirms he felt a unknown feeling of want and also ulquiorra "naturally" became and arrancar.
