I wish he would have stopped and taken the time to realize, what ever the problem was that made him do what he did, that if he was willing to do what he did, that it would only have been up from there, it couldn't of got any worse. I miss that voice R I P old friend.
Can't remember the year.........late 70's-early 80's
Went to see Tom T. Hall .........Faron opened for him .
Tom T. came on , sang 2 songs ..........walked off the stage. Nearly had a riot. Ol'Faron came back and sang for over 1 hour. CLASS ACT--Faron . I mean!!! Big Loss to Country Music.
Faron was a dear friend.he never got the respect he deserved.I know why he done what he did.it was not as reported.he had been so depressed about doing concerts for years.for little.or nothing.and the new ones coming on demanding millions.for a show.we were at his house not too long before he took his life,he was a real talent.will never be another like him.he would give you shirt off his back.Love you Faron.you knew that.RIP
@jhamrickkvinetcom i've just found him and his voice is fantastic. this song makes the hairs stand up on your neck. He looks like he enjoyed life though... could be a real ladies man . thanks for the info
I LOVE Faron, reminds me of my mom too... He was GREAT singer, showman, ONERY AS HELL and what a HANDSOME man, damn shame what happened to him... I MISS HIM... aw.
he committed suicide a few yrs ago, shot himself in the head, I STILL can't believe it, kind of like Keith Whitely dying of an alcohol overdose yrs. ago, Broke the hearts of BOTH their Families/friends and their MANY fans, me included... damn shame... Two INCREDIBLE talents and "one of a kind" as well... RIP Faron and Keith and the others who have left us too soon... your music lives on in us all... aw...
sorry he killed him self might have been a reason know he could sing my dad committed suicide so i know how effects family god bless his family him also he was great
aw so sorry for your loss as well hon... and yes I guess there are just some "demons" in life that some cannot chase away... damn shame... Faron was one of the Greats, VERY Nice fella too... what a voice and a talent the world lost that day... PEACE.
I would sit on the front porch swing and listin to his records in good ole Clintwood ,Virginia in the 70's.Give me great country anytime meaning 1980 and back, Screw todays country music!!!!!!!!!!

My family and I seen him a yr or so before he died at our Local Moose Lodge here in DE, and I flirted shamelessly with him all night, the "WINK" omg... and those eyes/smile could capture any woman... wow... had a blast... what a FINE singer and entertainer he was... "The Sheriff"... RIP Faron... we miss you...

I`d love to see young Brad Paisley sing this one. Probably not near as good a Faron, but a nice twist from a newer performer.

On Youtube we can watch the skinny young Faron or the graying, older Faron. Faron definitely looked and sounded better as he got older!!
