  • Saw these live just before the first album was released and their live sound was awesome, then i bought their first album and was so disappointed not with the songs but with the production, the energy and feeling of their songs just didn't come through at all...best watched and listened to live.

  • You know a band is good when you love the whole sound, and you think, in turn, that each member is what makes them what they are!

  • Reminds me of The Doors. I've been searching for a modern band like them for a while now!

  • @MrYoursuchanoob and they're from merseyside!

  • Just started watching these guys stuff, very impressed

  • I don't know why ppl rant and rave over Oasis - the Coral are 10 times the band Oasis EVER was!

  • Amazing video by an amazing band. Can't believe it's soon 10 years old..

  • At last a brilliant group with a fantastic sound

  • great song. looks like the set of wicker man. that would explain the pagans.

  • i loVe this sOng!!!

  • Great song!!

  • Why did they do a human sacrifce in the video?

  • @kristine27f The video is a homage to the wondrous film by Robin Hardy "The Wicker Man" (1971). However in this video the beautiful pagan May Queen climbs into the wicker pyre of her own volition, waves and says "Goodbye" in a glorious moment of self-sacrifice. In "The Wicker Man" the born-again christian policeman Edward Woodward is tricked by Christopher Lee and the people of Summerisle to arrive at the appointed place voluntarily, but he has to be dragged kicking and screaming to get burned.

  • Lets bring back paganism. F### that Christian crap

  • Holy shit, I've been looking for this song for ages!! I didn't know the band's name... Thank you!

  • did the coral loose their lead or rythm guitarist?

  • @klaxonian they lost Bill Ryder Jones

  • @doublenang i know but was he their lead or rythm?

  • @klaxonian lead, i'm fairly sure

  • de lo mejor de la decada pasada!

me recuerdan mi epoca universitaria mas elevada...

  • Yes, there's a film from the 70's and then the Nicolas Cage remake.

Does anyone know who the actress in the video is? I think I remember her from some other film, but don't remember which one ...

  • @kmh83 She plays a great willing human sacrifice. The poor girl is burned alive.

  • ugh the idea of a wicker man :(

isnt there a horror film called the wicker man? a really old one ?

  • mi sta piacendo questo gruppo! :D

  • buenisimo, me gusta

  • Terrific band. Great 60s sound. Love the pagan festival.

  • I believe that's Burning Man.

  • It's a Wicker Man. It's an old pagan tradition of sacrifice.

  • wheres Nicolas cage when you need him...

  • @Beefie11 Hee hee ;)

  • I believe you're wrong.

It is a wicker man, used in pagan festivals for thousands of years.

Burning Man is a pile of pretentious Americans setting fire to a wooden effigy in the Nevada desert.

  • love it :)

  • I now the Coral from Scrubs too and I live both :-D

  • just had to pop in and defend some of the more developed apes in our country. I love (most) of the Coral's music since I discovered them thanks to, of course, "Scrubs". However they are definitely a band worthy of wide press and coverage. I hope they get the success without succumbing to mainstream however. Greetings from OH

  • carnt get my head round people who use you tube to listen to tunes they dont like and then leave msg's stating they have been wasting there time.

fucking yank, board of bombing little brown country eh?

  • hey check out scottish band 'third connection' simple things'

    cheers

  • @sfa2 uuuuu a tuff guy you damn pussy

  • Love the vid and the song

  • I think it sounds a little like "incense & peppermint" from Strawberry alarm clock.. just listen .. it sound familliar

    Though, Great Song!!

  • Human sacrifice!!! I'd like more rhythm in the chorus.

  • come to mexico

  • Very influenced by pink floyd or not? check now the min 3:20; and... astronomy domine or better ummagumma

  • I think their influences are all over the charts but they are a modern day Doors well before sounding like a Pink Floyd. They have ditched the psych stuff and become truly tuned musicians with their last record. Such an underrated band

  • They sound fuck all like floyd mate !

Floyd are Floyd ,The Coral are The Coral.

BTW i like both of them.

  • love The Coral. whos the blonde girl in the video? She looks famous... live I've Seen her somewhere.

  • top tune!! top band!! seen them at the o2last week.

  • this song is so kol. the lyrics and sounds are so great on it. i hav to get the cd

  • very "strawberry alarm clock", don't you think? the album that this song comes from is quite good, indeed. thanks for the treat!

  • This is thier best live song! Amazing!

  • not too bad

  • Me encanta la rola!!!

  • Best band of all time?

I reckon in 30 years time they'll be as influential as Love, The Beatles, The Kinks...

The Last Shadow Puppets have already aspired to the Coral's greatness!!!

  • @thespecialk1690

They will be as influential as any of them in my house thats for sure !

  • @thespecialk1690 im sorry, the coral are great, but they severely lack the popularity that bands such as the beatles had, they will end up being forgotten, shame though

  • @fatttblunttt so dont let them be forgotten pass it on tell your kids about them tell your friends keep them alive man

  • ich kenn sie zwar nur über youtube aber die jungs habens echt drauf

  • i saw them in 2002 at finsbury park supporting oasis and they were brilliant and this song stood out

  • remember a day!!!!!

  • Love this Track. When I saw them in Tokyo they jammed it out for 20 odd minutes

  • FANTASTICI I THE CORAL! NN CAPISCO PERCHÈ SONO COSI POCO CONOSCIUTI IN ITALIA! sta canzone fa le BUCHE!

  • is that dave mccabe from the zutons at 2:59?

  • Hehehe he seems so....isn´t it?

  • Yes that's Dave McCabe in the crowd.

  • McCabe supporting his Deltasonic chums. :D

  • I fucking love The Wicker Man. One of the best films ever made!

  • jus F. amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Under-rated...as with most of their other stuff this is top class.

  • Wtf is going on in this video? awesome song though :-)

  • great vid inspired by the wicker man film...

  • Very Yardbirds

    Sounds great

  • the coral rock i love there folkie phycadelic sounds. i liked them for a few years now they're one of my favourite bands that have come out lately.

  • The Coral is a good.

  • I registrated just to write I LOVE THIS SONG and THE CORALS

  • makes me wanna roll around on the grass and lick the trees

  • Scousers :D

  • I just recently discovered The Coral and I AM IN LOVE!!!! Dreaming of You and In the Morning are my favorites so far... but I think this one is catching up to them :)

  • WOO I saw this song live just last night at the Arctic Monkeys concert in Malihide Castle!

  • My favorite Coral song also, and what a great video, an homage to The Wicker Man.

  • They sound like their maybe the next Pink floyd or Beatles. They're really talented. I bet they'll make more fortune than coldplay and oasis put together.

  • This is awesome! Goodbye was the first Coral song I ever heard! I love it!!

  • well good

  • Woah, an homage to The Wicker Man. I thought The Coral were excellent before seeing this video; looks like some new adjectives are needed!

  • my favourite coral song. have never seen the vid for it. they are magical.

  • the solo's quality
