The reporter while interviewing the woman from Brazil wanted to turn the interview into one about alcoholism on the reservation. The piece was about housing. Read between the lines people. They want to keep portraying all natives as drunks. For those people who are posting comments about natives leaving is rediculous. The question should be why can't they stay and keep their culture? Why can't they have the same rights as anyone else? Why can't America change its views towards natives?

@lucy9359 Actually, I have to be honest here. (Since i live in a reservation) We are perfectly fine! We have our own mini economy here. We have our casino, buisness center, schools....and in a few months we're gonna have a big grand opening for our hotel we have. if we got rid of the reservation, our own land would be gone as well. it's the only thing we truly have from our ancestors. its alot more than what you think.

@XxXMagicSkittlezXxX my mother was Native I never grew up on a reserve...I live in a part of Canada where the people I know off the reserve are not any poorer than anyone else or any less educated or less employed or any of the rest of it...the statistic for the area on unemployment off or on the reserve is 1% as far as who is completing high school from that area same thing barely a difference but there is a 20% gap in who is gaining a Post Secondary education continued

@lucy9359 as well these reserves which I live near are looking the same as the villages around them you have some really rich and not so rich houses they are not run down the people are fine so I know that to be true in some cases in other cases however if you go to Northern Ontario they are really poor and so are the villages of white people up there....I wouldn't live in poverty to maintain my traditions in life I am not against anyone who makes that choice continued
