  • I hope they were able to keep the babies safe.

  • Lowes has a good baffle for about $14 (Garden Treasures brand). You can see what it looks like in some of my videos. They are dark hunter green plastic and about 16in in diameter. Comes with a collar that you can adjust to your pipe. Thing is a squirrel can't do much even if he gets to the box. His arms probably aren't long enough to reach the eggs. It's likely he thought the box was a bird feeder.

  • A squirrel baffle kept the squirrels out of the bird feeder, as long as it wasn't too close to a tree. I've seen our Fox Squirrels jump over six feet from a tree to a feeder! These look like Eastern Gray Squirrels, perhaps even the melanistic form. I don't see any reddish-orange on them.

  • thats a southern fox squirrel

  • I'd put some grease on that pole. The squirrel made it about 3/4 of the way to the birdhouse before getting fought off.

  • excellent video work

  • WOW! Thank goodness the adults were able to fend off the squirrels this time! You definitely need to get a baffle on that pole to keep the squirrels from raiding the nest again. Best of luck to you! :)
