Obviously the SRT-4 is based off of a Neon body and chassis components. Like the Plymouth Roadrunner which was based off of the Belvidere Body and chassis, Dodge decided to continue the long running tradition of naming it's special vehicles as separate marks. So before you go around calling the SRT-4 a Neon, think to yourself...would you call a GTO a Tempest or a Chevelle a Malibu. All real muscle cars were based off of more pedestrian models. The only real one off models were the pony cars.
