I keep running into these few issues when i tuck the upper part of the tint into the upper gasket and when i let the window up thr tint creases of comes up. Second when i cut the the top window film either cut too much and its short of cut to less and it wont tuck in the bottom seal any tips?
Matt, I have to say, I found your vid through a search and loved it. It was very well put together and very instructional. I know I can say it has helped me to learn. I was shown all of the same technics as you show, in a crash course apprenticeship. It was nice to be able to see the same techniques at a more reasonable pace.
I must say one thing respectfully though. I would like you to respond to the heckling about the liberal use of spray. I only say this as I being new to tinting want to l
@TintStuff What's up man? What's the brand and name of tint that you use??? I don't want to get anything that will mess up in a short period of time that's why I'm asking. So what kind do you use and recommend?
@BuddyBoy224 are u gonna scream at the clouds when it rains? p.s. you dont even know what some people do to ur food. haha dont even trip about some water
Nice video, great quality. You did an excellent job, but as others pointed out there is one small thing that could be done better. Use an apron to keep water off the interior. You are very liberal with the use of soap solution. It is especially important to keep the water out of electric switches mounted in the door (mirror, lock, window etc). In a year or less those switches can corrode and will need to be replaced. That is my humble opinion.
Hey Matt your videos have been helpful but I am still having trouble with heat shrinking the tint. Its really frustrating. What kind of temperature should the heat gun be at and what is the easiest way to heat shrink windows?
@TheRRGhost all ya need is a cheap heat gun and set it to its hottest setting. if the film shrinks too fast for ya turn it down some. there really is no set temp but usually 750 and up
@TheRRGhost Yeah i know what you mean, when i started i didnt notice what matt was doing. He didnt really mention how before heatshrinking it you have to kinda "crumple it together to create fingers. not to much that tho. you can see him do it at 3:48 . hopefully this helps. by the way matt ur a fucken beast. pretty much learned everything from your vids. keep it up
@TheMegamanpr You can use baby shampoo and water. Couple drops of baby shampoo and rest water. Usually soap without any detergents. Or tint solution, whatever floats your boat. I would invest in a tint board, scratching that customers door glass would suck. Just my opinion.
when i tint sometimes i get dust in just the upper part of the window which makes bad looking tiny air bubbles and ruins the look of my tint, do you have any tips?
@SuperAllen91 window film has an adhesive on it already. the clear liner protects it from getting any contaminates stuck to it before getting installed. its basically a see though sticker.
hi, can you tell how you did the back windshield properly? This car has a spoiler which covers a lot of the back window, so you can't cut it properly and you can't shrink it properly. Without resorting to removing the spoiler how can you tint such a back window? Thanks
dude.. your'e awesome.. ive been doing this for about two years now solid and i learned quite a bit from you!! never tried the teeth thing.. ive been scotch taping like a rook from day one.. haha.. thanks buddy!!!!!
@gubzsingh i do both. keep in mind the window is curved and the tint is flat. when you shrink the tint you are form fitting it to the window. if you dont your gonna have a lot of "fingers" pop up all over the sides of the window.
@Monkriss good luck trying to clean and polish stickers and glue off a window without a razor. if you want the best result use razors and squeegees. never use a towel on the inside of the window till after its tinted. your gonna get fuz, dust and hairs in it.
sell people the material(mark up price) to do it their self and teach em how via youtube and then WHEN they fail they pay you to remove(properly) and replace it. let me count here.. 1..2..3.. you win three times bratha! haha!
A quick question, im having troubles with cars that have a dot matrix around the windows, what's the best way to do those? Cut them before the dot matrix? 1/2 of the tint going on to the dot matrix or fully covering the dot matrix?
@minimonster06 yes it needs to be heat shrunk. Just be careful on what ya off eBay might not last very long and turn purple. Good luck on your install hope it goes well!
Is it possible to tint a sportbike windscreen? Or are they to much of a curve? I know you can buy them tinted but I never really wanted to spend the money on one..
@Pyro17059 not with regular tint. sport bikes usually have the windscreen made of acrylic or plexiglass. you could probably use the same type of film for tail/ headlights. i can be kinda hard to work with tho if you don't know what your doing. if you can order a specific pre cut piece you may be able to but if its just a roll of film good luck with not scratching it when you trim it to size.
Please how do I get rid of bubbles of " NR SUPREME " tint, please. please respond? This is a big challenge for me, there is always a little spot that I miss.
Nice vids man, I'm learning a lot from them. I'm still struggling to get a good shrink on the back window. Any tips or info you can give is greatly appreciated.
pretty good video, but i notice in all these videos it looks like yall use quality real professional tint. how good is the gila tint and black magic tint from walmart and autozone. if i use that can i still make it look as good as the high quality stuff
@450o054 if your trying to start a tint business call a supplier or distributor. if your just looking for your own car go to a local tint shop and see if they will sell you tint by the foot.
@TintStuff well im living in Nj n here u can't tint first mirrors only back windows and rear glass. so i guess for back windows i don't have to use hot gun. So just wondering can i use hair drier instead of hot gun? lmao
@saucychurch23 Nope. There should be a polyvinyl seal held to the inside (metal) door skin by a black rubberized sealant. Even if the seal isn't there water shouldn't pose a problem. In a strong storm you'll usually get a bit of water down there anyway. Doors are designed to take on quite a bit of water with no ill effects. You could literally pour a gallon of water into the door through the seal and have no problem (other than a big wet mess at the bottom of the door). :)
What is the solution in the bottle made from? and why do you use the razor blade is it just any old blade that you use to does it not damage the window? Also i have a normal window squeegee and a hard plactic squeegee the one used for applying carbon fibre wrap will these tools do? Im quite scared of tinting for the first time and wasting money on the tint, i can get a roll of 76cm by 6m for around £35 is this reasonable and enough to tint a whole car? thanks for your help andany additionalfedbk
@hawkeyesaob it may make a crease where u fold the tint depending on the tightness of the seal. the easiest way to get rid of them is the heat up the glass on the out side right on the crease and press it out with a soft card.
awesome, just getting into tinting.. wheres the best place to purchase these tools, especially that spray gun? that thing is bad ass.. i do vehicle graphics as well so it will come in handy.. thanks!!
@rhinocide thanks for watchin! no heating out fingers will not distort the film in any way. you may notice an lighters areas on the tint and its only water/condensation in the window drying out. let it sit for a few days and it will all go away. the only thing that stays around are air bubbles and dirt specs. if there is a small pool of water it will dry out.
When your cutting the bottom edge, what do you do if the seal on the inside of the car is lower then the seal that's outside. Like the seal thats on the door panel, ive seen cars that the seal is almost half an inch lower then the one that's outside the car. With the way your cutting, would it be long enough to tuck? Thanks.
@zyou8er yea you can line up the bottom edge with the outside seal and then slide the tint an inch down and cut the rest of the pettern so the tint will be well in the inside seal.
@autovaz666 wow thats crazy! i know of one almost exactly the same called the "orange crush" i dont know if that would be any cheaper though. tintdude.com has a forum that might have answers to some alternatives!
@TintStuff At us in Russia the prices for the equipment for toning expensive, it is necessary to do by make-shifts, instead of a professional spray-house a sprayer, quality certainly suffers from it.
I use 3м (gold), and a white trapeze, I want to buy one of these days BlueMax.
The only thing that in Russia isn't present normal conditions, as at you in the USA for toning of cars. I am engaged in toning 2 year, clients are, if conditions were good clients would be more.
finally a tint video actually saying what kind of tint their using, your vids are real helpful and informative thx. but hey can you please please make a video on how to put in a sunstrip, i have a civic 98, big curve on windshield, i havent found 1 vid on here fow how to cut and put in a sunstrip, i dont know what the best method would be on getting the perfect curve along the bottom of the strip. ive got an idea but would rather see your method, i really need it soon cause too dam hot here.
@MrNicdude I've seen people use hard cards wrapped in towels, blue max, and orange and yellow turbos. as long as you get most of the water out with all the air your good :)
@Pendleton219 no prob! the film isn't actually on their website but if you go to performanceautospa. com you can get their number and get in touch with them and order film directly from them. they are a distributor for LLumar window film.
hi i have messed around with tint it the past for fun but i am starting to learn and teach myself how to do cars. i was wondering where you get your tint and supplies from also do you make your own solution of the water if you do what does the solution consist of. please and thank you for your time
@Pendleton219 i get all my supplies and film from 44tools.com (performance auto spa). get in touch with them and they can send some samples if your interested in getting some film. the solution i use in the spray bottle is just a little johnson and johnson baby shampoo and water. good luck!!
@Silent7mijo thanks! always tint inside if you can. there too much dust floating around as it is. tinting it outside just doesn't look as nice and is a big pain in the ass.
and what brand of soap are u using thank u

Do you only heatshrink the bottom on the rear side windows ?
Will there be any tiny bubbles when you done with the tinting, that will disappear when the tint is 100% dry ?

@MrNicdude I've seen people use hard cards wrapped in towels, blue max, and orange and yellow turbos. as long as you get most of the water out with all the air your good :)

Pendleton219 6 months ago
@Pendleton219 i get all my supplies and film from 44tools.com (performance auto spa). get in touch with them and they can send some samples if your interested in getting some film. the solution i use in the spray bottle is just a little johnson and johnson baby shampoo and water. good luck!!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I got my rear window tinted on my truck thanks to your video and now I'll try out the sides. Thanks again

nice video bud. do you think you would get the same results tinting a window out doors rather than inside a shop?
Silent7mijo 6 months ago
@Silent7mijo thanks! always tint inside if you can. there too much dust floating around as it is. tinting it outside just doesn't look as nice and is a big pain in the ass.
