ok im gonna sound like a geek here but if you play emulators like the gamecube one and play zoids use these and tv glasses the glasses with the mini screens in them it makes the game play so good much better like your a real real pilot
I've been doing extensive research on the standard X52 and the Pro version. I have an Alienware with Windows 7 64-Bit I keep reading so much about driver and axis problems with the standard X52. Can anyone give me any advice at all on Windows 7 64-Bit Compatability with X52 Standard and Pro? Is the Pro More Bug Free?
@Goldfire86788 hi i was hoping if you could tell me if it is possible to obtain flight hours using pc flight simulators? if so which ones and what controller would you recommend?
No the FAA does not allow Flight sim hours to replace actual hours in any aircraft. Though it may help speed up your training, unless you have $500,000 to through around, then your not going to get a flight experience that is close to flying a real aircraft in a flight sim
@Goldfire86788 You are actually allowed to do a certain amount of hours on a sim for your private pilots license I forget the exact amount but you have to do it at your flight school if it's available your not allowed to do it at home, I forget the company that makes the software.
@cheyamil i believe you can, But I believe you can only log very few hours using one (less than 10 i think) also, i'm pretty sure you have to follow a lot of perimeters for the hours to count. Also, I think you can only use it for practicing navigation.
@cheyamil No, you cannot obtain flight hours using PC flight simulators. Unless the simulator is certified as an aircraft, you cannot get hours from it. Most very high-end ($35,000,000) flight sims are certified by the transport agencies, and are given tail numbers.
@cheyamil It is told to me by a pilot friend that sim hours are usually accepted but it has to be a professional setup sim, not anything financially viable at a Residence, you need a full mock cockpit and i believe a full hydraulic suspension that reacts to the movement of the sim plane, Very expensive, And I use FSX all the time and you can use it for Combat Sim as well as IL-2, and HAWX's (combat game) if you just like to screw around and not have to manage things, Saitek Tech support sucks
FYI I'm fine you posting the video with the corrected audio... thanks for taking the time to fix it. I think the audio got messed up a while back when YouTube re-rendered a bunch of older videos.
Can the mouse toggle be mapped? Or is it always set to run the mouse? I ask, only because I'm interested in a HOTAS setup for Falcon 4 and would want to work the radar cursors with it.
ps hate to break it to you but.... your not entirely correct its not mainly for Falcon 4 (however is perfectly compatable). You infact get more intigration with MSFSX than any other sim out there, so logic would say that it is catered for MSFSX.
i have one that ive used for about 3 hours in total..for sale. as good as brand new. i dont use all the functions and prefer the thrustmaster hotas instead. this stick is too much for me..no time to learn the hardcore games or setup the stick these days..email me if anyone is keen.
It was well worth it though, it's definitely up there with the flight sticks. The brightness of the LEDs and backlighting is extremely bright for USB power.
Hmm. sounds great- have heard some mixed reviews, saying that it breaks easily and that if you send it into Saitek to be repaired it can take 2-4 years?
Mine is very sturdy, of course, if you take care of it, then you won't have any troubles. I haven't heard anything about it taking 2-4 years, but I strongly doubt that would be the case.
Overall, I recommend it, but see if you can get a demo of the stick either from a friend or video game store.
OK, i dont think many stores here would be able to sell them... ill see what i can do, ive also heard that the spring is a bit soft. Im used to harder things like the Logitech Extreme 3D pro-

cheyamil 2 years ago
@Cheyamil, I doubt that you would legally be able to obtain flight hours using the simulations. However, I may be wrong though.
The closest you'll get to simulations would be Flight Sim X, or maybe IL-2 if you like WW2 based combat.

@cheyamil Yes you can do it..but you need an instructor to certify the hours you made on the sim.

To be perfectly honest with you, I haven't had a chance to try that out. Your best bet would be to ask on FlightSimulationGuru.

PS yes, you can do this in Falcon 4. no problems. thats primarily what the stick caters for in fact.

tek5828 2 years ago
It seems the soft spring is a fault of the standard X52, this is the Pro model which apparently has a much firmer spring.
