I love my finish. The red one is also really tasty though. Tough decission. I went for the black one in the end because a black with gold hardware Les Paul is an alltime classic. Depends if you like that or not. Difficult choice :D

Bridge, knobs and even the ring around the pickup switch are all worn out, almost no gold left. Even my tone control knob is gone, I never touch it. The Sperzel tuners and my self added strap click thingys are as new though.

Thats just a normal Dminor sweep, 13th fret position, non barre. No clue if it has a special name. Only the 3 lower strings sweeped, followed by a hammer on pull off thingy at the end, just following the D-F-A ladder of the arpeggio.

Thanks! Really comfy guitar. Body is pretty thin, I always rest my right arm on the body. Neck is also pretty thin. It's real quick. Upper fret acces isn't optimal, but hey, it's a Les Paul. I actually have no problems reaching the higher frets. It could be easier, but it's do-able

I have never tried the Gibson, so I can't really judge. All I can say is that I'm totally satisfied with my ESP. Even after playing on more expensive guitars, I still think it holds up just fine. Everything is so smooth and easy. A guitar can definitely make you play better. This one does it for me.

EMGs, just like any pickup, really alter your sound. My other guitar with a Seymour Duncan JB sounds totally different. I wouldn't say that it doesn't matter what pickups you use when playing over a Pod Xt

EMGs are hot pickups. They give a lot tighter sound compared to my other guitar with Seymour Duncan JB's. They are also a lot quieter.

I love 'em, but I know many people that can't stand them. They do have a very specific tone.

The best thing to do is to compare passives and actives in a store. It's a really personal thing!

i have the same ltd and an epiphone sg with seymour duncans and i think the emgs sounds like heaven when you play distorted ( metaaaaal! ) and for clean sounds i like the seymours^^

Don't hold your breath for a tutorial, probably not gonna happen. I'm a busy guy, I just don't have the time. + it's been close to 1.5 year that I recorded this vid, all the solo's were improv on the spot and my guitar isn't tuned in drop C anymore.

I use Dunlop 65 Guitar Polish and a cloth. I'm not sure, but I guess every polish would work.

thanks for answering, i used dunlop 65 guitar polish (the orange/yellow bottle) with a scott towel,then i tried with those cloths you use to clean computer screens and lcd screens and it didnt really work..ill try with a regular cloth...and do you put lemon oil on an ebony board?

I actually should use some oil for the fretboard. I have really sweaty hands, and after a while my fretboard gets all dirty. Right now I use an old tootbrush and the Dunlop stuff I also use for the body and just scratch everything off gently.

I have a DI box which lets me record guitar straight into the pc at pretty high quality. I just prefer too play over my Pod through a poweramp through real speakers. Adds a lot to the sound.

ESP is basically custom shop. LTD is the mass production line. ESP LTD 400 - 1000 series are awesome. Anything between 50 and 250 is basically crap or cheap. I think the main difference between a 400 and a 1000 is pretty much cosmetic: Abalone inlays, flame or quilted maple tops, etc. But the 1000 deluxe series do have locking tuners like the Sperzel ones which basically renders them as superior to the 400s for about a couple hundred bucks more. I want the Vintage Black EC 1000 so bad. PEACE

And I don't know where you heared Ltd's are crap, because so far I have only heared positiv stories about them.
