Hey, this is great. I have revisited this because I have been wanting to do this but I'm too busy right now. I hate being too busy to do fun things! Do you think you could make a door mat with this technique? How well do you think it would hold up?
thanks so much for your detailed instructions...-I've been complaining about all the pine needles that fall on my roof and cover my patio on a regular basis-now I'm going to make baskets out of those pesky pine needles (like making lemonade if all you have is lemons?)
Very good video, thanks! After looking and watching several videos, this isthe best one yet for clearly explaing how from start to finish, to make one. Thanks again.
You did a great job! I have loads of these pine needles right outside and never dreamed you could make a basket from them. Thanks for the demo, I think I can follow you, for sure!
The gauge is the size clump so it stays a consistent diameter. I use a drinking straw mostly. You need to dry the needles first or they will shrink when you wrap them. Soak raffia in warm water. Soak dry needles in Hot water. Thanks for commenting.
Your video was very instructional. I will be amongst acres of pines on Summer vacation and looking forward to sitting on porch making pine needle basket..Question- what is a guage you refer to? where do you get one? Do you soak the needles and raffia in water or can Ii use green needles? thanks again!
Thanks so much you did a great job making this video and I have watched lots of them on the subject but yours was the best. With your help I am going to make one of these this Easter Weekend.. hugs
These look really good. I really want to try this and get my own pine for it too. We might not be able to get really good at it over night but I think that is really the fun part, to keep practicing :D I'm sure it's a fun hobby.
Amazing. I saw a pine needle basket the other day. A friend's daughter had made it. Now I understand the process. Thanks for the very detailed description. I might want to try this someday.
@countykowboy - Is sad that we dont have pine needles here in Brasil :*( I searched everywhere, i dont even know if they can enter the country, would love to make some , maybe one day.
What a wonderful video! Your stitches look great. I've never heard of the fern stitch. I think I use it, but never knew the name of it. Your work is excellent. I'm amazed you can make such lovely things with such short needles. I went to Georgia where I gathered Long Needle Pine needles. Now I gotta go look at your other one! Thanks for telling me where this is!
Beautiful!!! Thanks for the video....
