  • 1987 to 1999 this the reason i fuckin dance so long im a old house head !

  • Don't Talk About Acid House...Be About Acid House

  • What a TUNE!

    So simple yet SO powerful

  • Had flashbacks to all of the hole in the walls in Detroit I've heard this in

  • TRADITION!!! CHI-TOWN STAND UP!! Y'all brought this to the world!! The whole planet is dancing to y'all's music!

    ARMANDO R.I.P. Master of Acid.

  • Absolute classic:)) nice one leon:)

  • now thats real acid for your ass

  • perfect !

    * * * * *

  • yo shutt up

  • heres some real acid house for you fucks

  • This is the first acid house track I heard in college in the early 90's. Does anyone know what equipment Armando used to make it?

  • There is obviously a TB-303, definately a TR-707 Im not sure where the rim comes from though

  • That harsh rim sound i had trouble IDing sounds like a 707 Rim on the same step as a 707 open hat.

I have programmed it in on my 707 and it sounds like with a bit of effect processing it could be that. the only problem is that later on he brings in a full on hat attack which is impossible to do on a single 707 because it maxes out the poly on the hats.

My guess is he had acess to two 707s which is quite likely given how tight knit the house sceene was back then in chicago.

  • Thank you for doing that research. to me that harsh rim sound sound like an old rotary phone dialing. Such a cool sound. it really captures the imagination. It sounds like the sound was "stretched" somehow to last longer than a typical percussion sound.

  • Im going to have to have a go at recreating 151 with my 707 and my borrowed Novation Nova instead of a 303.

Ill send you a link once / if I manage it.

  • There are most likely delay and reverb processors on the hi-hat. They had dedicated boxes for those things back in the days. Peace.

  • @snolan1990 It's the 707 rimshot processed with the Alesis Midiverb II. One of the most underrated rack FX from the Chicago old days. Classic, gritty sound.

  • @marcpinol You just bought back happy memories of when my MIDIverb II was working as well as sad memories that it is now dead ;(. Thanks for the info.

  • @snolan1990 Well, it's a really cheap machine right now! I bought mine for 50$ six months ago... :-)

  • Only Armando can sustain interest for 5+ minutes with a SINGLE NOTE! Now let's hear some stupid-ass guitar-strummin' motherfucker sing over a track like this! Peace.

  • You are a genius for appreciating the genius of Acid house.

Sadly we are back in the realm of said motherfuckers once again, more than 20 years later.

    Who'd of thunk it?

    Keep the faith...

  • Just to make it clear, the motherfuckers are the guitar strummin' dudes, as alluded to earlier.

  • when i hear this groove, i MUST MUST MUST dance!! period!! :)

  • i want to point to the 70s funk and salsa influence of the early chicago acid/house music. if you look past the electronic thing, this is very latin, funk, jazz in stucture. thats why its very funky and makes you want to jack even its using cheap instruments. give me the basic groove of the past, instead of todays fancy over tweaked sounds anyday!

  • Oh Yes, how could i ever 4get MELTDOWN 88..

So u think u can dance? You think the trip will help you? Youre determined to last it out to the very end! Sorry Mate! - NO F**^"*G Chance!..

What u dont realise is the power transfer this equates too!

    Its 1% REALITY - 99% BRAIN-F**K!!!!

This track should have a government warning attached to it!

Im not lying - People did'nt survive the onslaught when this was played!

IN THE LAND OF THE WEAK - 151 IS KING!

    U HAVE BEEN WARNED!

    Tam:)

  • Seriously, what a classic!

  • Yeah what tambian said LOL

  • really cool stuff, you should create a torrent for them all on demonoid or pirate bay.

  • Aww cheers bruv! but u know, i think i spent the best part of 3 years party hunting all over the uk! The only time i ever remember bieng home was to sleep! lmao!

  • Imagine the scene! - - - -> MELTDOWN 1988

Flashing lights - strobe - laser - strawberry flavoured smoke machine - 1000 ravers in a dis-used warehouse in South London. The sweat, the people, walls dripping with condensation, and last of all--> THIS!

You could see the pain in the ravers faces as they tried there best to keep up with the rhythm, and the 303 line this track unleashed onto them! If music was an avalanche, then boy did they feel this one!

    Monstrous rockin vibe !

    10/10*****

  • Tam strikes again with a backflash from his classic(not to mention infamous)raving days!

Read, learn and be very, very jealous! I know I am! LOL

  • That's a night that I wish I could have been part of...

    151 baby, The original Acperience...

    PEACE from Chicago,

    RRKS
