I have a lifted 2003 KJ on 245/75R16 Wrangler DuraTracs with open differentials front and rear. I would like to install a TrueTrac but don't know if it's more useful in the front or the rear. What do you recommend when leaving one open?
Ok, about the music. Red Hot Chili Peppers own their music. Unless you got permission from them to use it in your video it's copyright infringement. The Red Hot Chili Peppers probably didn't even do it directly, it was probably their record company. They want to make money!
@jschmitz23 I agree that they own their music, and they can decide whether or not to let me use it in my video. I have used music from other groups and they have no problem. They attach a small note stating where they can purchase the song, which I think is cool. I have used that link to purchase music I like.
Just as you state RHCP have the right to deny my using their song in my videos so they can make more money, I have the right to stop purchasing their music because of it.
Does your Libby have lockers in it? Around the 2:45 mark you have all 4 wheels moving at the same time. I have a 2007 and the traction control gets me through almost anything, but I don't do anything so extreme that I need lockers.
I love my 2008 Liberty...It was a great upgrade from my '92 Cherokee. Due to the extra weight of the Liberty, it does not have the power the Cherokee does..what is really needed would be the 3.0 Blu tech Diesel and a 5 speed auto mated to it....that would be something. oh well I guess that would just cut into the Grand C sales if they did that.
'02 and early '03 have the 45RFE transmission, which is pretty strong. Newer Liberties have the 42RLE, which is also a good tranny. I'm not very familiar with the CRD transmissions, but I've not heard of many problems with the transmissions.
The ball joints and front differential, however, are another story.
its a jeep thing! man good to see a fellow libee owner kicking it. I expect to pass by moab this summer... any tips man? I'm currently undecided on which lift to purchase.. I leaning towards the rough country's 3''
save your money and go for a frankenlift, its old man emu front and rear hd coils, rancho front struts and rear shocks, its the best bang for your buck you can get. If your limited by budget restrictions, you can go with Rusty's, but some people have had problems. You get what you pay for as far as lifts go.
people talk crap about libertys saying its a poor excuse for a jeep but i have a stock 02 and have taken it more place than most people with wranglers have
I believe 1:13 dispells the statement that KJ's are poor excuses for off road vehicles. They are still after all, Jeeps. I have a stock 04 limited, and there's guys with ifs f-150's & tacomas that get stuck before I do. Of course guys with wranglers with front and rear lockers and 40" tires are going to call them garbage, but hell. Throw a SFA on a libby and lock it up and its the same damn thing!!!
Wonderful driving skills, Got an 04' Libby bone stock (for now! >:-D ) The lockers really make a HUGE difference don't they? mines a daily commuter so i can't go crazy with it =-( Great vid!
As far as a lift, I have a Daystar lift in the front and Skyjacker springs w/ OME shocks in the rear. Total lift is just under 3". I have also added Full skids, front Truetrac and rear tracklock lockers as well as a few other goodies.
Hah! It will just add to the special effects if I ever roll it ;) Actually, I don't mount it often any more. Only on long trips or when I head into the desert (Death Valley). Hearing branches scrape against it in the woods was kind of unsettling. Time to find a new mounting point.
very very cool for a driveable jeep .

@tjborekvideo I would do the rear first. If you don't have full skids & rock rails, I would do those before anything else.

The trac lock is stock. I don't really remember how much I paid for the truetrac, but I think it was somewhere around $300.

i have a question my dads bout to get a liberty and we asked out local car fixer and he said that liberty's tranmission brakes a lot is that true?

Not true.

whats better wrangler or liberty?
zippypinhead11 2 years ago
Depending on your size needs (as far as I know) I always prefer smaller wheelbase and less weight. I would choose the grand cherokee or the liberty.

Check out my other video. I show KJ's doing the Escalator, Tipover and Golden Crack.
It's amazing what these Jeeps can do.

As far as a lift, I have a Daystar lift in the front and Skyjacker springs w/ OME shocks in the rear. Total lift is just under 3". I have also added Full skids, front Truetrac and rear tracklock lockers as well as a few other goodies.

chances are your liberty doesnt have lockers though...the beastiness comes from having locked diffs.
