Definate homage to the Short Circuit films. The mannerisms of Wall-E, the voice actor choosing a very similar tone, the running over of a grass-hopper (or cockroach :P) And thats without taking into account the many similarities between the two movie robots.

But hey, if nothing else, it gives me even more motivation to see Wall-E xD Truely cant wait. Just a shame Tim Blaney wasnt still around, otherwise you know f'sho that Pixar woulda hired him to do Wall-E's voice ;)

Pixar knows its genre. That is why their stuff is so amazing. Unlike other studios that do rendered animation just to show off that they can(monster house, polar express). Pixar's cool thing is that they know what works in rendered form, and if you think about it, many of the personalities of their characters, and the physical humor just wouldn't work in any other form.

I just can't wait for them to break free of Disney so that they can really shine.
