It's just an illusion, that hill is actually going down, but the area around it is slanted so it looks like it's going up. It has nothing to do with a magnetic pull.

Well I don't get why everyone seems to think it looks like uphill. Would be kind of hard to see the surface of the ocean from this point of view.
