would scanning be more effective with another 2 probes for the vertical dimensions, or is it just a waste of time to have to reposition them as well as the others?
the idea is so that it doesn't show up on the scan again to clutter up the next few searches. that and since he had bookmarked the location, the scan result is no longer needed.
I need to get into salvaging. So far I'm training Frigate IV which will take another 46 hours, then it's Carriers, THEN I can train astrometrics and skill up to use probes.
Awesome tutorial, Paul, but I have tried your scanning tactics, successfully found lots of warpables, warped to them, but everybody salvages as they go these days. Any ideas?
Im still unsure on the 5 probe technique. I will try it out. But I think Im so used to 4 probes now I dont think i will ever change. Cheers for the vid.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks of Ender's Game when I use the system map screen. Thanks!

What probes were you using?

If you're scanning dixie, set the probes to 8au, put the leading edge of your scan radius on the sun, and scan above/below the horizon.

why is it important to right click and delete the %100 result??
also, is a ships ID permanent? will that player and his ship always carry the same scan ID???
walmartian 1 year ago
@walmartian he ignores 100% ships cuz he wont hunt same ship twice, thats why

@walmartian No ship IDs change when a ship leaves the system, at downtime, or if the player repackages the ship and assembles it again.
However if a player leaves a system, and goes back to one he was in before, he will then have the same ID. System dependent it seems.

A quicker way to change the size of all spheres is to shift+drag the edge of any one sphere close to the desired range.
