  • When I was little my dad played this song all the time. About ix months ago I was told that he had passed. Today I found him after about a six year period. It made my day and I can now listen to this song again.

  • Not a patch on the Steve Conway version!

  • I am dancing to this with my Dad at my wedding!

  • My dad and I would have danced to this but he is gone now so will have to find something for one of my brothers and I to dance to.

  • This was my father / daughter dance 23 years ago at my wedding...not a dry eye was in the room when it played...and to this day i still cry when i hear it but the memories it brings back are priceless

  • He looks like the singer in the Godfather movie

  • @Giovannisenzaterra That's because he plays the singer in the Godfather movie.

  • @Giovannisenzaterra

    It is him......

  • I danced to this song in Ballet when I was 7 yrs old. I'm now 33. Brings a tear to my eyes when I hear it now. Life is so different now.

  • @TooberFan I'm the same age as you and I know what you mean. Makes me sad to think about it.

  • Married with children brought me here!

  • Really prefer Al Martino's version to any of the others mentioned. Such a gentle voice with a meaningful message. Love the arrangement. Makes you want to sing along. RIP Mr. Martino. You left us a wonderful treasure.

  • this song means so much to me my dad used sing this to me,it brings a tear to my eyes.miss you so much daddy r.i.p xxxx

  • Ever since my daughter was born I have thought about dancing with her at her wedding to this song. Well Oct 2011 will be my chance ! I have tears in my eyes listening and thinking about her big day

  • Happy Fathers Day Dad, still remember when i danced to this song with you. I miss being Daddy's little girl. Will never forget you, ever. I know you are with Mom, but I cant help from being selfish when i hear this song or an everyday thing that goes on in my life, that you would say or do. Just regret telling you all these things when you were alive. It wasn't that easy then, now that i can express these feelings you are not alive, but hope you hear them. Thank You Dad! I Love You.:)

  • This is the best song for a girl and her dad for a wedding..so beautiful.. Just listen to the words...Love it

  • Most girls my age dance to "i loved her first" or something else but I know my dad loves this song...used to sing it to me when I was a baby..so i am surprising him by dancing to this song at my wedding with him...I hope someone has kleenex because we will both need it! What a timeless classic!!!!

  • I am the baby of 8, my dad passed away 6 months ago & I miss him so much! Daddy I love & miss you so much! I will always be your little girl, I remember when you use to sing this song to me & I will never forget those times as well as all the other memories we shared, I love you always :) -3 R.I.P 12/03/10

  • Great song!

  • I will always cry to this song my dad has sung to me since birth I love you daddy

  • I remember when I was 3 years old me and my dad danced to this song at my parents wedding for a father daughter dance. i'm using this song for my sweet 16 too :)

  • My dad used to sing this song to me when I was little and just after he married my stepmom she somehow picked up on our nightly routine and found me this beautiful carousel music player that plays this song. I absolutely love this song.

  • I dedicate this song to my Daddy in Scotland, & to my Uncle who adopted me & became my Father, who is now deceased. I love you both more than words can say! Daddy, I'll always be your little girl, & can't wait to see you in 2012. Dad, I miss you, & thank you for being so good to me. xoxo

  • I grew up to my parents singing this song and I have passed it down to my children. My 3 yo little girl just about knows it word for word :)

  • A wonderful song I will cherish forever..My dads pride and Joy

  • I'd never heard this song before, and now that we're planning our wedding, I asked my dad what song he would like to dance with me to at our wedding, and he said this one. I had to hear it a few times, but it's grown on me.

  • Me too. My dad taught me to dance with this song many years ago. We danced to this song 17 years ago when I was married. I still cry when I hear this song. I love you, Daddy and I always will! Love, your little girl. :)

  • I was a true daddy's little girl, and my dad would sing this to me his whole life. I am much older now and he has been gone many years, but this song can make me cry faster than anything I know. I feel sorry for all the girls who missed out on being a daddys little girl !

  • It makes me cry but I have to listen to it. I loved my dad sooo much even though he has been gone for many years now.

  • my dad used to sing this to me all the time, and play it on his guitar. & now he's left me behind and his new wife is more important.. :'/ i miss you daddy. hope you always remember this song♥

  • Love This

  • An old chestnut. Many have sung it well, but not as well as Martino.

  • @CarlDuke I agree. Also, this version has the best arrangement.

  • @CarlDuke this song was knocking about in the 1940's and was sung by Steve Conway a radio Luxumburg disc jockey who died very young in the early 1950's

in my opinion better than Al Martino's version

  • @CarlDuke al martino was a wonderful singer but my favourite of this one is steve conway

  • @tipple1933 Thanks so much for this information. I still prefer Martino, but I was able to find a sample of Conway singing this song and was impressed. He sounds a bit like Bing to me. In any case I was not familiar with him, and it is always fun to discover a "new" quality singer. It's kind of like finding out that a singer with the talent of an Eddie Fisher, Perry Como or Tony Martin just released a CD that somehow achieved air time in the current era.

  • @CarlDuke I'm glad you liked steve conway, he died very young but in the 1950's he was very well known

  • heard this on Bioshock 2 :]

  • My dad has been gone since 1975 but this was our song and it still makes me cry.

  • This was the song my Father picked out to dance with all of his Girls at our Weddings. I miss him tons.. RIP Daddy 3-9-2010

  • I too have lost my Father. When I hear this song I think only of all the good times. My hero.

  • I'm daddys little girl, my father past away almost a year ago, but I know that he feels this way for my, R.I.P. April 2009
