I heard the beginning of that song on NBC's Football Night in America when they were telling the story about a Packers fan giving his liver to a bears fan. Great story.
@BareBandSubscription you re right zeppelin ripped a lot of songs lol...but it doesnt chance the fact that p.j ripped them.its too obvious,i wonder if they didnt realized ,cause somethimes the ripp off is not intencional
@beroth77 I feel that there's been so many generations of riffs and melodies that not every "rip-off" is an actual rip-off, at least not consciously. Zeppelin, on the other hand, straight-up ripped people off (guitar lines, lyrics, and the way in which Robert Plant sang them; we're talking ENTIRE songs) in a time where there was plenty of room for creativity.
@beroth77 Pearl Jam played a medley of this song+going to California with Robert Plant itself onstage, back in 2005 in a benefit show...so I guess that turns it into a kind of tribute :D
Anyone have any ideas on what this song's about? I think the first half is about letting go and finding peace, but the second half reminds me of Jesus. Thoughts anyone?
These lyrics are like poetry.

On behalf of the band, I would like to announce their inner thoughts and feelings that they have accumulated over the past 20 years...
To members of our respected Jamily who have helpfully pointed out that we can no longer be what we were during Ten and Vs:
FUCK YOU!!!
If you cant handle our music then dont listen to our songs.
We hereby disinherit you from the Jamily.
That is all, thank you.

I liked it better the first time, when it was song by Led Zeppelin, with the title "going to california".

are you kidding?

Yes.....but you do have to admit both songs sound kind of similar. But it's not as if I believe they're the same song, or anything.

punkguyrich 2 years ago
@punkguyrich Yeah i also think it is about Jesus. Many people do.
Some people think it is about being high on weed. They asked him if it was in an interview and he sarcastically said "yeah. thats what it's about."
I think Eddie is a little deeper than that, don't you?
