Now that's my family gypsie tipcal music. Played calmly softly and gracfully. I really do adure my cousin. Because he bring me my ID back to me as I was adopted in england and cut off from the family of the lakatose's... well done. x
Well, actually, fine tuners suck. There's a bit of a lag between twisting the tuner and the tone change in the string, which means they make it harder to get the correct pitch, not easier.
Roby you are a great violin player, and I admire you a lot, but Roby you're always playing the same songs and themes over and over again, son could you change you repertoire, you can you've got the talent all you need is a good composer or some one who does the arrangements.
Roby Latkos playing KLEZMER music. Well, Hitler didn't like us Jews and he didn't like the Roms either so it's about time WE JOINED FORCES---ESPECIALLY MUSICIALLY! I LOVE this tribute to the people who didn't make it through the Shoah or Holocaust! Roby is looking preety serious here and he's giving it all he's got so that's how I knew it was a Tribute. He probably lost some folks there like I did.
my boy, scream your aberations elsewhere. i don't understand the relation between this music and the holocaust. sorry for the people who died then, but let's not consider that they have a monopoly on suffering. jews are people like me and other gentils and let's not make a fuss about them. more, my home-country, romania, suffered enough as the russian jews brought communism here after the WW2 (all high officials were jews in 1948, u can verify). so, let's listen some music and shut the hell up.
NAZI HEARTED LAD! tisk tisk. so JEWS brought you communism. and even in the presence of this delightful Rom music from Roby, you inject your poison. FOR SHAME.Jews suffered horribly under the Communist regime in Russia.
@herminestover: moron brained lad, i really don't care how jews suffered in russia: i was busy suffering because of the communism in romania. nazi? maybe in your noncultural thinking. so take your poor cultural heritage and listen some good music here - it might enlighten u.
Overheated McGigi666--- with the mark of the beast yet!, I am NOT a LAD! How dare you speak ill of my cultural heritage when you have none at all! You do not even recognize a German female name... I shall be contacting my solicitor about this matter directly, for a good belly laugh. I think rather it is YOU who need to turn on the lights. We know you do not care, that is clear. and, take a bath, it smells in here. I say this from a loving heart space.
Agreed, it's a gypsy violin showpiece that incorporates some themes from a yiddish theatre song, which in turn was inspired by klezmer and romanian music. a couple of steps removed from actually being klezmer music
Yes, it really is a fusion of cultures which co-existed and borrowed each other's music, language and folk traditions, so that they overlap and in some cases are nearly indistinguishable. Usually this cultural interchange is very enriching.Roby and his troupe are remarkable, and lead to considerable dancing around the house when we play him here.
I want to marry his mustache

Why on earth not? What's this elitist thing about only having one fine tuner in any case? Any really good reason for it? I think not!!!

Just asking, perhaps someone knows...I'd like to find "Alouette" by Sandor Lakatos, anywhere, as music or video.
ann0202 3 years ago
I suggest you type 'Ciocarlia' on You Tube.
You'll find plenty of versions of this splendid Romanian song (in French is translated 'Alouette').

PS
I have some versions of Ciocarlia (Alouette) in my favourites.
Blessings!
