Okay video except he did not demonstrate making the weapon safe by clearing it. THAT is the most important part of the process of cleaning a weapon. A gun like the Glock might go hundreds or even thousands of rounds without cleaning and still operate-it only takes one ND to put the owner permanently out of commission... ;-)

The whole - "clean your gun after shooting or else" bit is really an urban legend. Older gun powders were corrosive and could pit your weapons if you did not clean them. That is no longer the case. Most modern firearms, Glock in particular will shoot thousands of rounds reliably between cleanings. I have gone at least 2k rounds between cleanings.

It should also be mentioned that you should clean the feeding ramp BEFORE cleaning the barrel, when done with a tooth brush. I've had dirt and grime go back into the barrel only to have it sit there again.

Shouldnt you always clean breech to muzzle with a cleaning kit like an Otis or Bore snake? Solid rods were used circia wwii-vietnam.

He did clean breach to muzzle, he took the pad out after passing it through the barrel, and then removed the rod. I prefer snakes on my long guns and rods on pistols.

Excellent video for first time gun owner or a person who knows nothing about guns and gun cleanins.

It would be nice if he also did a gun cleaning on a rifle.

Camera person needs to stay on the object being shown rather than the person.

Overall, very, very good concept and we need more of these types of videos on most any kind object.
