motul is just as good as amsoil some of the Oil anaysis weve run motul passes amsoil and some amsoil surpass motul. Both are some of the finest real synthetics made
@meronmotors - Motul is a fine product, but they didn't pioneer the synthetic lubricants industry for cars and trucks. AMSOIL inc. did and subsequently has a substantial lead in technology/experience vs other choices.
Oil analysis isn't to be used to determine, "the best oil", but to determine the condition of the *that* oil sample *only*. A myriad of things effect oil analysis test results.
The only amsoil I would consider going more than 15k miles on would be their HDD 5W-30, and only under certain conditions. That is one of their best oils and stands out in the syn oil marketplace. One needs to be sensible when extending oil change intervals. Don't just do it blindly. Certain engines and usage conditions will chew up an oil and spit it out in record time!
@redlywaxer - AMSOIL has recommendations up to 35,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first and those recommendations are backed up with a written warranty. AMSOIL HDD 5W-30 is a super product, but it is formulated for heavy duty diesel truck engines, not passenger car engines. AMSOIL's best oil is the SSO 0W-30 and leads the synthetic oil industry. Check out my channel for the 409,000 Mile Oil Drain video. I've been using AMSOIL 25,000 mile + oil drain intervals for years with great success.
@JayzBeerz - The price is the same whether you buy it in a retail store, online or from an AMSOIL dealer. AMSOIL is not available in discount auto parts stores because that is not the market niche it is intended for. AMSOIL is a premium product and is not sold in discount auto parts stores. It would be like trying to sell fast food cheeseburgers in a five star restaurant. :)
If anyone is skeptical about Amsoil I am conducting a one year study on a 2006 Impala using the Amsoil SSO product. I am going to run the oil in this car 1 year 18,000 miles with the Amsoil EA oil and air filters. I have an option at the end of the page to vote for the oil analysis company. Oil analysis data will be posted at the end of one year. An option to post and follow comments is also available.
YES I am an Amsoil dealer. Visit my profile and you will find a link to my site.
@buysynthetic - What you are doing has already been done an untold number of times in the past 38 years, with nothing but stellar results. It's old hat. :)
@HiTechOilCo - You and I know the results will be good! I did this not only for my visitors but also personal friends who are a bit skeptical. The owner/customer/friend that owns this Impala has never done anything other than the standard 3K mile oil changes all his life. So far he is very happy with the product and is looking forward to having to change his oil once per year.
100,000 mile change is far fetched for a car engine, but with these new ' by pass' filters truck drivers are going 400,000. Extend drain intervals are a thing of the future for cars. Some European car manufactures are already recomending 50,000. The engines and oils are getting better.
@hotwelder2010 my uncle has a 1989 Ford F-100 with a 302 cubic inch V8. When the truck had about 50,000 miles on it he told me he changed to Mobil 1, and that he was NEVER going to change the oil again. He was only going to change the filter at 5,000 mile intervals and top off with fresh Mobile 1. Truck now has over 380,000 miles and going strong. It does not burn oil and runs like a top.
It's bullshit............ If only on the basis of net cumbustion by-product (contaminents) that will eventually overwhelm (saturate) any lubricant and filter. I'm so tired of all these snake oil product claims. Sure, their lubricity, higher operational indexes, higher performance etc. might be all well and good and clearly beneficial, but beyond a certain operation point - hours - any oil is going to simply be over contaminated and become "liquid sandpaper".
@equinoxranch - Go to my channel and watch the, "409k Oil Change", video. You'll see an engine that went 409,000 miles on one fill of AMSOIL synthetic motor oil. At the completion of that 409,000 mile interval, you'll see an independent engine rater evaluating the internal engine parts and be able to see the parts for yourself. Seeing is believing as they say. Any questions at all, feel free to message me. Take care and have a super day! :)
For those that think 100,000k mile is out of line, AMSOIL has been tested in multiple vehicles and perform for 100,000k or more using oil analysis. It's not available at AUTOZONE but is available by independent dealers like myself. Feel free to contact me if you want more information.
AMSOIL is like the AMWAY of automotive products. Lots of BS marketing, BS claims, but to be fair, its only ever so slightly more BS than the major oil pushers.
Mobil 1 ACTS like they will answer all questions regarding their synthetic oil but they were asked if they still use PAO base stocks and they refused to answer saying they don't disclose their formula anymore. Hmm. Amsoil is honest about what formula platform they use and are always willing to challenge other oils. Amsoil uses pure PAO with the best additive chemistry. Others are hype. Amsoil may have a strange business practice but the product itself is superior.
Compare how many oil changes you do in 25,000 miles. It's probably around 8. My cost at a Lube place was around $24.
8 x $24=$192. I found Amsoil for my car and paid another lube place to install it for $20 labor. Total cost around $85. I saved $107 a year in oil costs. The oil is great and the nano filter is the secret to extended oil life. If you use other full synthetic oils still consider the Nano filter from Amsoil, yes it's that good. Look at the end of the journey, the cost per year.
that most definitely was an amsoil bottle and filter with the name amsoil taken off. i use their 0w-20 and filter and this is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. amsoil is one out of MAYBE 4 oil brands in the entire world that are in the group 4 oil group. everything else, from crappy pennzoil to the famous mobile 1 is in group 3, which classifies them as lesser quality oils (idk which group schaeffers is in). if the oil you're going to use isnt in group 4, then you're not using the best there is
Amsoil synthetic, when used with a bypass filter, can easily go 100k miles. But, you will need to replace the full flow fliter every 25k miles and the bypass filter every 60k miles. I've had mine in my engine for 26,000 miles at the moment. The oil is still clear/amber. The bypass system works.
surely all oils are really the same for example like tescos or walmarts 10/40w semi synthetic oil compared with amisol 10/40w semi synthetic oil. in which case i have just gone to wilkinsons and bought my self semi synthetic 15/40w motor oil to put in my diesel and its much cleaner and runs perfect. what do you think about this then oil companys? if anything i think this has cleaned my engine as it looks clean inside now.
As I mentioned above, you can drink tap water or purified water, there are different qualities. Group III oils are considered synthetic, but are made from petroleum. The refining process is better than Group II, regular petroleum. Most synthetics are Group III, and many use the lowest quality on the scale that a Group III falls in, making them not much better than Group II. Amsoil only has one "blend," a 15W-40 diesel. One line is Group III, but highest quality on scale, others are Group IV, PAO
Im using Amsoil under heavy "stop and go" traffic in New England,
I dont believe them the oil can last 15k miles, well, i do change with in 5k miles, it's good.
Also under extremely cold weather light now, I need good synthetic oil to warm up my engine fast, also reduce dry start wear.
One thing I like about Amsoil is it's 100% synthetic, mobil, royal purple, castrol havent put it on their bottle yet... They are only "synthetic blend" which mean not 100% synthetic.
I used to doubt if Amsoil was really serious about what they put on their bottles, but since the quality of the oil, (after 3 changes), I trust it is 100% synthetic...
If u dont trust! Fine, u have your own view, go try it out, see the different...
They use the phrase "Full Synthetic" because the base stock is synthetic however additives are not; I've heard (and assume) that there are laws here in the US the oil must meet certain specs to be 100% synthetic...
No, keep doing what you're doing if you're happy with it, just make sure the oil meets the specific spec your manufacturer recommends. A good synthetic would add extra insurance to your engine should something happen. Loose a water pump and you'll bake a petroleum quickly, while a PAO based oil will survive much longer under the conditions. You can drink tap water, or purified water too. :-)
LooksITsRiceCake - You are correct; there are never any advancements in technology. There is no reason to ever use better, more advanced products when what our Grandfathers used works just fine! The world is flat, if man were meant to fly he'd have wings and a laptop computer would crush you! Bias-play tires are fine, so we have no need for those new-fangled radial tires! Drum brakes have always worked, so we don't need any new, modern technology disc brakes, no sirreeee! lol :)
LookItsRiceCake - Well then you are doing the same thing, eh? lol :) It doesn't matter when ignorant comments are made. What matters is facts are shared, instead of ignorance. How are those suspenders working out for you? "A belt? Nah, who needs one of those new-fangled belts!" lol

Next time, go ask Mommy to help you with reading comprehension and also to tell you just what the word, syntax, means.
@LookItsRiceCake Wrong, as usual, Dipstick. Had I written, your mommy, no capitalization would have been required. However, Mommy is a proper noun. Why are you so anxious to declare what a dumb ass you are? No reply necessary since I will not be reading anything else you send. You are a total waste of time and you obviously never had a good woman to make you into a man.
@JohnQuincyAdams1 You are so right. All these tin hats that know so much more about everything than the billion $ corporations who develop the new technologies make me laugh. What asses they are. Appreciate your comments.
They dont tell you redline uses group V base stocks wich is better then group IV base stocks paos in amsoil. Also the extra zinc used in amsoil is bad for catalytic converters.
Redline is good if you're looking more towards racing conditions. Both Amsoil and Mobil 1 when they started in the 70s used a Group V ester base stock. But both found esters had a tendency to attract and hold moisture, which wasn't good for everyday driving. They moved to the Group IV PAO base. Mobil last I heard use various additives from their industrial line, while Amsoil in their higher end oils use esters, so they are doing the best of both worlds.
@ TechnilubeCom. So where does Royal purple fit in with all this crap? I hear this one is the best or that one is best! What is the best damn synthetic oil out there? I have a new 2009 Pontiac G5 currently using Vallvoline's [from the dealer] Half synthetic "Durablend." I live in MI where the temperatures will go below zero. Sometimes I drive it hard but I don't put alot of miles on it. I've had it for close to 3 months and it hhas around 2,300 miles on it
@jayguy173 Thanks for that information. I had always been skeptical of the Amsoil brand because their ads sound like more like hype than actually factual. The info about the added zinc is critically important. Thanx, again, jayguy. P.S. Mobil1 has a huge site for consumers to address issues, as well.
@thefirstgalaxybeing - Jayguy is a nonsensical spammer. AMSOIL doesn't have extra zinc. ASTM tests are not hype, but facts. If you want hype, look at the commercials on tv about oils. *That's* hype.
@JohnQuincyAdams1 This is why I like the Mobil site. There are hundreds of questions addressed by scientific researchers who have been dealing with syn lubes for years. Popular Science mag did a Consumer Reports type investigaton into Mobil 1 Synthetic and sang its praises for all the right reasons (1978). that report is what convinced me Mobil 1 was the best of the lubricants. I use Mobil 1 ATF, too, in all my veh,
@thefirstgalaxybeing - AMSOIL pioneered the synthetic oil industry for cars and trucks way back in 1972. Mobil tried to jump on AMSOIL's pioneering bandwagon several years later but couldn't cut it. AMSOIL is the industry leader and has been for over 3 decades.
Yeah, over in the collonies. They do not sell any thing over in Europe, we have more refined cars and more demanding engines. The kind that use Mobil 1 as factory fill.
@einstein1984 - The colonies? They? I think it might be that it's not so much that European engines are more demanding engines, as many American vehicles are sold in Europe and they do just fine, but that with the Autobahn, there is no speed limit and this places more demand on an engine that one in America where the speed limit is a mere 65 mph.
@HiTechOilCo what about ur industry leader? he cant even get it in europe. mobile one is used in more race cars that amsoil could ever hope to. How could assoil ever be considered an industry leader?
ok oil is ok i guess you can make it so it lasts...but oil filter...i dont believe they would make a oil filter that would run for so long without having damages.
The Amsoil Ea Oil and Air Filters use nanofiber technology that Donaldson Filters developed for the M1 Tank to filter the small dust particles they encountered in the first Gulf war. They use these filters today.
I am not sure the purpose of this video. This is an Amsoil Synthetics oil bottle & filter, but the brand name has been removed. Amsoil promotes 25,000 mile oil drains or one year. It is possible to go longer if using oil analysis, but the video doesn't mention this. Also it IS NOT readily available at AutoZone. Maybe in certain stores, but again, no reference to which one(s). Not sure if this is meant to be a spoof of some sort, or to prompt questions, which it has for me as an Amsoil Dealer.
@redlywaxer I doubt any company would declare its oil could go 100k even if its oil could because of liability issues. Imagine the crooks out there who would file suit against whatever oil company in order to get a new engine around 100k miles of that company's oil usage. Looked like some good splicing on that video, though.
I would be afraid to drive my car over 100,000 miles without changing the oil. It would be nice though since I change the oil in my own car.

@HiTechOilCo
Yeah, over in the collonies. They do not sell any thing over in Europe, we have more refined cars and more demanding engines. The kind that use Mobil 1 as factory fill.
einstein1984 1 year ago
@einstein1984 - The colonies? They? I think it might be that it's not so much that European engines are more demanding engines, as many American vehicles are sold in Europe and they do just fine, but that with the Autobahn, there is no speed limit and this places more demand on an engine that one in America where the speed limit is a mere 65 mph.

@HiTechOilCo what about ur industry leader? he cant even get it in europe. mobile one is used in more race cars that amsoil could ever hope to. How could assoil ever be considered an industry leader?
bobwatters 1 year ago
@einstein1984 - Factory fill = stock. How many vehicles are modified past just merely stock so they will perform better? Stock doesn't mean the best.
HiTechOilCo 1 year ago 3
@HiTechOilCo Yeah right, how many "modified" vehicles can match the performance of those "stock' AMGs and Corvettes?

ok oil is ok i guess you can make it so it lasts...but oil filter...i dont believe they would make a oil filter that would run for so long without having damages.

Not sure if this is meant to be a spoof of some sort, or to prompt questions, which it has for me as an Amsoil Dealer.

how can this oil go 100k miles? Is this a joke? I've never seen this oil at the Twilight Zone!
redlywaxer 4 years ago
@redlywaxer I doubt any company would declare its oil could go 100k even if its oil could because of liability issues. Imagine the crooks out there who would file suit against whatever oil company in order to get a new engine around 100k miles of that company's oil usage. Looked like some good splicing on that video, though.
