  • i love these little guys.. =)

  • @234phillip yeah you would.. faggot.

  • how much did you get the sand for?

  • nice music. what's it called? someone plz reply me!

  • haha, awesome song choice, great tank man

  • the current in the water is too strong, that is why they are not swimming. they will get used to it in time :D

  • your tank is cool and all but are neon tetras supposed to just sit there? I don't think they are I think they are sick

  • @luv4fashionprincess1

They weren't sick, they all went on to live for about a year in another tank. Two of them are still alive, as well as 4 new offspring.

  • hay are cory catfish any good for a tank ,i have heard they are realy messy what is ur one like im thinking of getting 1 or 2

  • @AwesomeAssassin1000

They aren't messy at all, in fact, they do a good job of cleaning the bottom if you have sandy substrate. Ideally they should be kept in a group of 3

  • where'd you get the rocks? they ish awesome

  • @aisumi123 The white rocks were found in my backyard. I took a hammer to them and it created those pieces that you can see. The black ones are charcoal and regular coal.

  • Sorry for responding so late to everyone, I haven't linked my youtube/google account for that username. This is my new account (10majfar).

  • wow, 4 males and one feamale =)

  • @darjack904 how lucky lol jk

  • Those snails and shrimp make that tank look so much more awesome

  • they look like floating fravel. lol :)

  • OMG!!! Ur gravel is aesome!...I want those rocks!...

  • I have had my tank for two weeks now and I want to get some neon tetra for it. Is two weeks long enough for the tank to filter its self before i put fish in??

  • @QuincyLights I'd let it go for a bit longer, and it depends on what else you have in the tank, and how big the tank is. Usually after a month to a month and a half, it's safe to put more delicate fish like neons in.

  • @QuincyLights yes it is but

1: have u tested the water to make sure everything is perfect for anyfish

2:no u shouldnt get neons believe it or not they can be quit sensative , u should get a hardy type of fish like a danio they are very hardy coz the tank will have ammonia and nitrate and danios can live in high nitrate and ammonia quit happily

3:then after like 4 weeks get neons trust me i have black neons and the normal neons and i breed them and sell them

  • 1 Male Dalmatian... I looked hard but I couldn't find a Dog in that aquarium....Damn it, I'm gonna have another look -.-"

  • that's funny how your tetras are all on the left side and not moving lol. overall, love the decor. i'm thinking of getting the black background too

  • Great video, I love how you used the black gravel, it really brought out the Tetra's colors. Check my videos out =)

  • can i keep 4 tiger barbs in a 10gal. tank? THX ~!!!~

  • @sailorminimoon1000 yup. id get 6 though, since they school

  • for a first tank you really went all out! lol

Love your decorations. I also have black gravel and wanted rocks/stones like yours but all I found were like "old Greek ruins" (ivory) which look good too. Is that black on the back of the tank like one of those backgrounds for tanks? I was thinking of doing the same but I thought it might look too dark. After seeing yours I see that it's not bad at all, I'm gonna try it! ^_^

  • @leah201010

So how did you set up your tank? The coral backgrounds at walmart have a solid color on the flip side, usually either light blue or black. As long as you use "daylight" bulbs or other high output/watt bulbs, the tank will not look too dark. Thanks for your comment!

  • wow man i love those awesome tetras man were u get them

  • you could get away with ten if you have a strong filter

  • Thanks for actually posting all the things you have in your aquarium! Helps a lot..I wish all the other aquarium setup vids did that too

  • my black neons are the same, they just stay in one corner. i guess mines aren't sick after all.

  • bitter sweet symphany is a song for anything and it fits perfectly but im just not picturing it with the fish right now mabey hold the camera still or more slow but i love that song and im not picturing it mabey some songs from phoenix

  • what do u feed all the fish

  • if you put a back ground on it and give them places to hide, they will move out of the corners

  • check out my new wall mounted aquariums designs in copperhead retro video

  • Hey how do you clean your moon sand? I have wanted to get some but it looks like a pain in the ass to deal with

  • awesome tank man exactly what i want mine to look like.

  • any vid with this song is good

  • if you really want the neon tetras to move around you need more hiding places (plants, rocks, or extra decor will do)

  • bittersweet symphony

  • @PSNjizzcake nice vibrant tank :D good job

  • i got the exact same sand from petsmart..lol

  • nice tank but you should add more plants

  • lol ( i havnt moved from this corner in 3 weeks) xD

  • take out the rocks that you found in your backyard because they might dissolve and harm your fish. you can buy cheap rocks that are safe to use in your fish tank from aquatic stores

  • I would fill the space with a pair dwarf gouramis, two red wag platys and an other molly

  • have they moved from that corner yet? lol

  • you should really keep cories in groups of at least 3.

  • I love your tank

  • haha lol my new neon tetras seem to resign to one corner of my tank too ..

    weird huh

5/5 for the tank though its nice

  • This video made my decision on white or black sand in my 10gallon neon/betta tank. Definately going with white lol jk :D

  • i like that dark set up, goes well with black tetra

  • Do you think the white sand is better or the black sand ?

  • so do your ghost shrimp coexsist with the mollys okay?

  • lol interesting song choice...for fish

  • yeah i know. next time I'll use heavy metal

  • @PSNjizzcake haha lol.. your funny.. "he's constipated" lolzz

  • @PSNjizzcake Is 13 fish too overcrowded for your 10 gallon tank?

  • @Ilikepenguins333

It depends on how many "good" bacteria are in your tank, as well as your filtration. This was my first setup, and I eventually upgraded to a 20 gallon rated filter.

  • Hey where did you go to get that sand ? And I gave you a 4/5 only cause I don't like the fish ,lol but the tank is very kool

  • Its cool, it was my first tank so I wasn't sure on what fish to get. You can get it online or sometimes petsmart carries it

  • @PSNjizzcake

where can u buy ghost shrimps? i was thinking petsmart or petco?

  • yeah those sometimes even walmart and most local pet stores

  • @n4v3al for me there is a river near by where they come to breed and there are thousands of them so i get for free lol i forgot name but its in nocattee florida i live in arcadia and its like 2 min away

  • Is this tank still going?

  • The tank is still going with different fish. I change the setup a little every now and then. All the fish in this video have been moved to a 29 gallon.

  • my rasboras also stayed in a corner for a long time, until i blocked off all the corners with either plants or decorations. then they swam everywhere! yay

  • Just an amazing display, music was perfect!

  • you should get 1 or 2 more corydoras'. they swim in groups of hundreds in the wild and they really hate to be alone. he'll be much more active in a group.

  • Yeah I bought another bronze one for this guy, the last one the store had. They do great together and I regret keeping him alone all this time.

  • hey i just got a tank what makes the bubbles guys

  • @tigertoothguppy a airater they are cheap 5-12$

  • hey there, i have aqua tech 5-15 gallons as well and i wanted to get some tetras and guppies and was wondering if u ever had experiences where the submersible tube of the filter sucked in any of the little fish, e.g tetras ? thanks , let me know

  • No, tetras love fast currents, and won't get sucked up unless they are about to die. Eggs and baby fish may get sucked up; I would use a sponge filter for them.

  • okay so i am going to get neon tetra and black neon tetra and a 10 gallon tank but what else do i need to buy cuz dont they need to breath or sumthn...yes im a first time fish carer

i know i need like plants and a castle and sand

  • A filter, substrate, and a ton of other things you need to learn. Google 'setting up an aquarium' for in depth answers.

  • Petsmart sometimes carries it for $24. Ask your LFS to order some for you. It is available online too but with shipping it comes to about 35 bucks.

  • @ilovefishful

What the fuck is wrong with you?

  • @ilovefishful ther is nothing wrong with me

  • idk iof it was the song or the video... but it was fuckin amazing man i want your fish tank now

  • probably the song lol. The video wasn't that great since it was my first tank.

  • yes these are tropical fish..

  • Nice looking tank.

  • whats the song?

  • bittersweet symphony

  • yeah my BNT pretty much resonate in the same spot most of the time apart from when they're feeding

  • I love your setup. Similar to mine. I REALLY want to try sand out now.

  • Thanks I was thinking of a planted Amazon/driftwood setup next but idk how it would look with black sand

  • I know what ya mean. I was thinking about an all natural theme. I was thinking about possibly using white gravel or sand. Like, white, white. Maybe some bamboo and a Buta figurine, too.

  • nice tnk man it looks sweet

    check mine out

  • What's the song name?

  • bittersweet symphony

  • i like the tank but with the catfish i have on just like that one and it likes ti have a small shelter to lay under than at nite it will come out

  • I eventually added some dense plants and some more rocks for shelter after this video was made. But even after that he slept during the day right in the open. He wasn't afraid of anything.

  • poor cory cat....all alone....

    he needs a buddy...or two

  • He was actually doing pretty good in my tank, but I eventually moved him to another tank that has two pepper corys. He died two weeks after that. He was the first fish I ever bought so It was a bummer.

  • See its cuz he didnt have no buddies

  • lol they havent moved for 3 weeks. lol. hey My tank has alot of current going through it, will the sand blow around like pool filter sand. or does it really just stay put? thanks

  • the sand I use is pretty heavy, even when I am siphoning it, it doesn't come up until I am like 1cm over it. As long as your water coming out of your filter isn't like a waterfall you should be ok.

  • ok.. all of the fish you have are active fish( but apparently not yours).. so something's wrong with your tank...

first, your corycats should be in a group of 5 or more, and just wondering... is your tank cycled?

  • thank you for you concern and yes my tank is cycled lol. There was nothing wrong with my tank, and the fish are currently in another tank and they are doing fine. Tetras have a very fast metabolism, but unlike goldfish or guppies they do not swim around aimlessly.

  • Hey, what temperature is that?

  • Usually about 80. Room temp. is 76 but with the tank light on the water gets pretty warm.

  • So you don't use an heater? you use your light as a heater?

  • I don't use a heater. Even during winter my room stays about 72 but with the light on the tank is 76-80.

  • omg .

    thanks anyways

  • 1cm fish per 1liter water is really a guideline for beginners without taking into account factors like compatabillity ,Surrounding & adult size of the fish.Once you build up your fish keeping experience, you can really throw the rule out of the door.I have friends including myself who successfully kept about 17-29 fishes in a ten gallon for a long period of time

  • im sorry i mean 25liters i dont know how to convert it in gallon ,

    sorry .

yeah the same with me .

they only move when i feed them .

    isn`t it overcrowded?

  • Yes it is. A basic rule is that there gose 1cm fish pr 1liter water. A tetra is 4 cm= 4l water. Your aquarium have about 20l water in it, that means you can have 5 tetras. If you want to keep you precious fish I suggest you buy a 150l aquarium. Then they can actually move in it...

  • You have 34 fish in a 25 liter tank...yeah its a little overcrowded

  • i have a 20l aquarium .

    8cardinal tetras

    12 neon tetras

    10 glowlight tetras

    and 4 otinculus(algae eater)

the cardinal tetras stays in one place .

what seems to be the problem?

the other tetras are moving and swimming around

  • do u mean 20 gal ?

  • I moved these tetras to a 29 gallon, and they still stay under the filter and don't move at all. Only when I feed them and when A bigger fish comes do thy move. I think this is normal b/c in the wild they live in fast flowing rivers.

  • nice tank

  • nice acuarium

  • YOu need more corys they are schooling fish and dont like to be by themselves.

  • Yeah i know but if I did that it would limit the amount of other fish I can have. Besides, he seems to like all the space; and he evens plays tag with the other fish.

  • Right, that's why you don't get fish that will not fit into your tank. If your tank is too small for a healthy group of at least 3-4 corys, then you should not get corys! This is the basic principle of responsible fish-keeping... Jeez.

  • I would rather not buy 3 or 4 more corys just so the fish isn't "lonely".

I don't want to offend many people when I say this, but it is just a dang fish! Even if you think he is lonely by himself, who cares? I am not an 8 year old who sees him as a pet and gives him a name; his purpose in the tank is to clean up uneaten food.

  • You should get cardinal or neon tetras to better match your black substate & background

  • oHHH why did you buy only 6 of them ??

You must have 30-50. But it looks good

  • u dont need that many. for this size tank its fine.

  • You should buy more lights and put some plants in your tank, it would do your tank a world of good. I see that you've only got cory cats left, that's a shame! You should put some tetras back in, you've got the right tank for it.

  • thanks. Since this video I have added cabomba and Elodea plants, as well as neon tetras and guppies. The elodea is doing fine but the cabomba is just dying and making a mess! I will make a new vid as soon as I clean the tank up but I'm just too lazy.

  • Cabomba tends to break off into small pieces which is part of it's nature, it's not necessarily dying unless it's going yellow. I personally found that elodea got nipped at, and would tend to break apart before it established. You might want to add some sand around the root of the cabomba as I have a theory that it has a hard time rooting into gravel. Keep it up though!

  • Mollies require high pH, alkaline water, the opposite of what Neons like... keeping these two species together results in one or both suffering due to unfavorable water parameters. I suggest you figure out if your water is hard or soft and either keep the tetras OR the molly.

  • The only fish that is still in the tank is the cory catfish I moved the rest to my parents' tank so I will let them worry about it lol

  • Nice tank but look into the shell because it may be harmful to your fish since they are freshwater and shells are for saltwater because of the chemicals they can give off. Just because you said you got it at the beach. In any case you could get a fake one.

  • I love your tank... it's very nice. What kind of gravel is that?

  • thanks, it's black Tahitian moon sand, about 20 bucks for 20 lbs. I used about 15 lbs for this tank. Petsmart carries it if you are interested.

  • Thanks. I'm going to buy some soon when I set up my 55 gallon tank.

  • and oh ya...the reason y the tetras were in that corner for so long is because of the filter current it creates because they like moving water

  • nice....i have 10 black neons and there awsum, i believe if u get 1 or 2 buterfly rams(theyre so much fun to have)

  • Oh my goodness! I absolutely adore your tank! It is so simple and BLACK, looooove the black. I saw your question on yahoo answers, I think that you could get a pair of convicts, orrrr a AFRICAN DWARF FROG! i just bought one the other day, still baby but i think they are so much fun to watch, not like a fish but fun

  • thanks

yeah African dwarf frogs are pretty neat but once they get big it could be a problem

  • Very nice tank! I would suggest that you get a few more corys though, they like to be in groups.

  • Thank you

I plan on adding some more cories soon
