EDIT - There was only one reference to C&R- the ep where Tom is a ghost for the ep. Cap says something to Cassie about Chris (without saying his name though) That was it. That, in my opinion, was a poor choice on the writer's part- there should have been some references to C&R. In fact, the whole show's style changed from the start of season 6 to the end. Even the series finale was too quickly done and left too many open endings and unanswered questions regarding Tom and Cassie as well as C&R.
In the show's defense, Nick and Tyler were good, and Chris and Janet were good too- different, but good. And I can't imagine anyone other than Charlie and Mitzi to be in charge of the PBPD. The main problem was that after Rob and Mitzi left, the show quit talking about them- period.

I agree...and I HATE the "guilty as charged' cliché. I stopped watching after they left.

I can't believe they tried to make a go of this show after they wrote out Chris and Rita. They WERE the show.
