ford beats toyota in longetivity my moms 86 camry went out back in 2007 because of oil leaking and pinging in the cylinders and trouble at staying anything over 55 MPH
My dads 88 mustang doesn't have anything wrong with it except muffler shaking and is still going strong with a 2.3L I4 engiene
I have had my fiesta for three weeks, I love it!!! very cheap to buy, and to fill it up, cost about $25 to fill the gas tank compared to the $70 I put in my Suv. it rides great has plenty of room inside and is very fun to drive!!!
just bought a 2011 sedan yesterday black 5 speed and i love it! and yes im a guy who also owns a 91 eclipse gsx. this car has been nothing short of amazing so far
Ford has been importing and selling the new fiesta in Brazil from Mexico with manual air conditioning and manual gearbox, without fog lights, without ABS and Airbag... Guess how much is the bargain?! USD 28.000,00 It's an absurd! Selling one car in Brazil they make profit of selling three cars in Europe! Disgusting!
Don't you ever ever ever dare compare a Ford with a Honda. You are a retard to even mention Ford in the same sentence as a Honda. You have absolutely no clue or knowledge of cars to even make such a comparison. You take a company that has proven itself for over 30 years to a company that has produced nothing but mediocrity for the past century and make a comparison. Please do us a favor and don't call yourself a car critic, whatever you do.
It's been in the UK for 2years. It's cramped, slow, expensive and dull. Who wants a 1200cc engine that rockets it to 60mph in 15seconds? That's a manual gearbox too. Far too heavy with poor visibility. I wouldn't bother, give it a miss. Even a KIA Ceed has more equipment.
@urbex2007 liste mate you take out of your arse The honda jazz as we call it in europe Is boring just like the ceed. And the 12.5 cc is not that slow. Its quick through the gears.Drives like a sports car.And is so so much fun to drive. The looks of the fiesta is amazing And not like a old granny car . The stearing is so responsive. Gear change a dream. Its not cramped At all . Btw you dont have to buy the 12.5- Theres a 1.6 cc. The price is good 2.I love mine. Mate you talk shit
My gf's goes to 60 in under 10...its built for city driving and people who want an eco-car, talking 0-60 is like saying you wish a CR-Z had room for a child seat in the back. The auto is still more fun to drive, especially vs the US's Kia Forte which has zero highway accelleration and cheap plastic everywhere. And this has the most features/equipment of any car in the segment for $19,660 without stupid leather and moonroof options.
@kiasoul10 Read the reviews idiot of the fiesta and the boring kia.Im gona full to sleep. You americans dont even get kia ceed in the usa so shut up. Dont knock it till you try it.
ill stick with my 09 nissan versa. There is nothing different this car offers that the versa hasnt offered. Styling is one thing I will give it compared to the two cars. But again the versas been out since 07. So they are do for a styling refresh. The versa is honestly considered to be a midsize car because its so big. Dont believe me, research it. But I will give ford props, cause it is a nice looking car!!!
The fiesta is very nice, but fully equipe top of the line model its a bit overpice, but the base hatch model its good. I like the fit but its also overprice. The yaris is nice on the outside, since its shorter its easy to park, but the interior its kind of outdated and its way overpriced. The new scion iQ looks nice and the Mazda2. I'm gonna wait until 2012, thats when every single car manufacture will have they're subcompacts out on the market, so we'll have plenty to choose from.
Ford is kicking in the door of the small car segment with this Fiesta and with the 2012 Focus that will be here in 2011. Talk about upgrading their car lineup....wow. Just wait....BOTH cars will be big hits for Ford.
fun to throw around corners? more like fun to be thrown around in the body roll around corners. if this car had any more body roll it'd be used in a jello commercial.
Ford beats honda and toyota on Quality check for yourself! I have the fusion and love it. I owned 2 civics loved them too but they were a little tin can ish and not very nice to look at! I hope people will give Ford a look! Still love honda but if you can buy an American name plate why wouldnt you!
I completely agree with you... The jap brands are good, but ford has been pushing all there new cars to a whole new level. Lol even the new ford mustang gets 30 MPG with 300hp!! I am however trying to buy a fiesta this summer because they are just so awesome!!!
Because the Civic comes in a coupe. That's what did it for me and I will buy a Civic or Golf. I would like to look at the Fiesta and Cruze but only four doors right now and no sport morel? Boring.
@40markava I owned Fords and I owned Honda. You don't know what you are talking about. I've had transmission problems, power steering break downs, engine problems, and suspension issues with FORDs within 5 years. In 12 years the most major problem I've had with my Civic was an alternator. I see more Fords broken down on the side of the roads than I ever see a Honda. I can't remember the last time I even saw a Honda on the side of the road. I go by what I see not what car companies tell me.
@allstarhs If the FIT goes 10 years without major problems then it is not over priced. It is way under priced. I guarantee you the Ford Fiesta will not last 10 years without major work and repair. I learned long time ago that it is better to pay a couple of thousand more for a Japanese car than buy a better equipped and "solid / heavier" American car which will break down and need more service repairs.
Completely disagree about the Fit being underpriced, sure the cargo space and rear leg room is nice but just to get Stability Assist you have to buy the Navigation system that even the Honda guys says is a "little buggy but you have a smart phone so you probably wont use it"...for juuuust under 20k....right now i get a much better quality interior with soft tough dash, SYNC, bluetooth, push button start, LED parking lamps, and more mpg and imo better looks for a little less.
As long as it keeps the European Style and interior equipment, that will be nice. I know this car. The crappy Yaris and the a little bit overpriced Fit wll have a hard time with this car. Hopefully they add good features. I am sure the first one falling will be the crappy yaris with its cheap design and interiors.
I like the styling, but I still prefer the Honda's quality and styling-and I'm not saying that because I happen to love Honda, I'm saying it with all honesty. But, I am very optimistic for the launch of the Fiesta and am sure it will trump that ugly little Yaris in sales! Great job, Ford! :)
Most of these are build in Germany and shipped to the UK and US. The European version is so much nicer then the saloon version

@blueburaq - Why do you say that? I'm debating between this and the Fit.
Blairtje13 4 months ago
@Blairtje13 i say that because thats not true. EXACTLY! ford fiesta may have better quality, but the fit will outlast the fiesta any day
blueburaq 4 months ago
Fiesta has the best looking exterior
Versa has the largest rear legroom / comfort
Fit has teh most practical cargo configuration
Yaris is the only vehicle that seems outdated and beaten by Fiesta.

For a fully equipped model it's going to set you back $20,000 by the time you pay for tax, paint butler, alarm etc.
And that folks is just plain ridiculous, this car should be available for $16-$17,000 fully loaded and out the door - Ford is getting greedy.
