Well, SNES did have I rival back in it's day. And the Game Gear and Master System, were competing with the NES. Sonic the Hedgehog had an 8-bit version. And Super Mario World now have his. It's a win win sitution.

If this didn't have that nasty pirate sound engine, this would be a really good port. Sure, it's toned down like hell visually compared to the SNES version, but for what it is, it is amazing.

But you can seriously hear it, the terrible sound engine used in nearly every damn pirate port ever. Somari had it, that really bad NES Pokemon Gold port had it, etc. It sounds really bad, until the final boss music kicks in [really well done].

Also, shame you can't throw diagonally...
