  • Enjoyed it. I like history and this kind of stuff makes me wonder about the town that was once full of lively people.

  • Hello, nice video, I actually lived inside the depot in the early 80's, upstairs south end. The general store was the HD&LD Porter store. The Town had 28,000 people at it's peak. You also show the School, next to the bank.

  • @bheagle65 WOW! You must be an expert about the area. I was there for two hours one afternoon and loved it. I wish I could have entered the station to see what the interior looked like. A grand old building it is! Thanks so much for watching and commenting on my video!

  • Great video ! I enjoyed it.

  • If I were to shoot a movie their is it on gov. property? Permits?

  • @happyfoxproductions Thanks for asking. I believe it is on property overseen by the Bureau of Land Management. You may want to check with your local BLM office for more information.

  • @davidegg22 ok thank you!

  • @davidegg22 Actually it's now owned by the mine that is to the east of it.

  • As others have commented: "nice video" ! Looking forward to visiting this place in Jan 2012

  • Nicely shot material

  • Thanks for asking! This particular sequence was shot with a Canon Vixia HFS100 HD camera with a Canon directional stereo microphone, DM-100 set at 120 degrees. I routinely use my Bogen tripod with a fluid head to provide an enhanced viewer experience.

  • Nice steady HD video; what brand/model of camcorder did you use?

    Did you use a tripod?

  • Nice video.

  • I’m glad you enjoyed the video and commented. It is always fun to stomp around ghost towns and envision what life was like. It was a simpler time indeed. You may also enjoy a video I shot at Garnet, MT, a ghost town a few miles from my hometown. We visit Garnet every few years.

  • Thanks for the post and the information on the T&T. Great train station in its day! I can imagine the excitement when passenger trains rolled up to the platform!

  • The Tonopah and Tidewaterf had one of their headquarters at Rhyolite. The main headquarters is at Ludlow, California
