Amazing covers! I have a CP 70 B too and are Keane fan..I have made some backing tracks for UTIS and some of HF, but I have not been able to recreate this
electronic synth stuff on EC and B&B. How did you do it? Do you have a real Juno 6?
This is the last question! I promise!! Does Keane create the effects of the songs of Hopes and Fears with the laptop or with the POD XT 3? Thanks! This is the last question
POD XT is an effects pedal, not a synth or synth effects creator. All it does is provide compression, delay, chorus, distortion, reverb... etc to live instruments. The effects on hopes and fears were made while the record was being mixed and produced. So no, the music effects like blips and beeps and snyth sounds were not make by the pod xt as that is not what it does. those effects were made on the computer and keyboards
Foi a melhor performace, em piano da Musica Everbody's Chaging da banda Keane que eu já vi, você toca muito bem, Parabéns, abraços do amigo Brasileiro ;)
It was the best performance in the piano music Everbody's Chaging the band
Keane I've ever seen, you play very well, congratulations, hugs friend
The CP70B doesn't have midi. Only the CP70M and CP60M has midi (hense the M at the end)
Its a very simple setup. My computer doesn't run any of the real time effects such as delay/compression... etc. The only thing my computer is doing is playing the following tracks: Bass, Drums, and Synth Effects and nothing else. EVERYTHING else you hear is live using guitar effects pedals (Line6 PodXT) It is the exact way Keane does it live accept they have someone behind the scenes clicking the play button
But I think that Keane connect the piano CP70M via midi with the guitars pedal for the effects of A bad dream, Crystall Ball, and so on. what are the characteristics of your piano? What connections does the piano have? Thanks
No, they do not use midi for the CP70. Tim doesnt use a CP70M. The Line 6 pedal doesn't use MIDI either. They run the piano through effects usng the XLR and regular audio cables. Check keanebackline . info for more information on their live setup and keaneshaped.
All the effects come from my computer. Line6 is a musical effects pedal brand. just go to their website to learn more about it. I do use the line 6. I usually use it for compression/delay/amp... etc.
I dont signal the computer at all. Its just backing tracks playing that I play along to using a click track that only I can hear. The strings, bass, drums and all of that are pre-recorded.
Someone who was recording a live session for the band had a DVD filled with a track of every sound effect for mixing. That DVD and a few copies were given away to people who donated at WarChild a few years ago. The only place it was available was ebay a few years ago. I dont have permission to share the tracks so please dont ask.
Do you record the effects and the tracks of the bass before? Do you use any pedal? Explain to me please since as you create all these equal effects to those of Keane thank you
No there are no effects pedals, its just the piano and the audio from my laptop mixed all mixed together. I simply create the drum track using music production software and the synths were the original synth tracks from keane taken from the audio desk at a live show.
hmm. Well I just use my computer to play back the drums and synth parts. All I do is play the piano in sync with the computer. The piano was not prerecorded.
hello again. great stuff, well im sick and tired of playing cp70 on my computer now. i want the original piano.. i cant find anyone forsale. so, can you give me a hand? i know nothing, help me fine one of these, and i dont care what i have to pay, juste help me please!:( one more time, great video and keane rocks!;D
You are amazing! :D I'm in the process of buying a CP80 which I'm so excited for! Just curious, aside from your CP70, what do you use in your recordings (synths, amps, computer programs?) I've studied piano for 13 years but I'm trying to learn more about the electronic stuff. Thanks and keep up the amazingness! :)
The only other keyboard I have is a casio. I also use a line 6 pod xt for creating effects. It works well on synths just as it does on the piano. I use magix audio studio 10 deluxe. I like it the best so far. I have been using it for 4 years
I'm brazilian and I studied piano for 8 years when i was young. After 20 years i am restarting again.Congratulations for this music, you're fantastic. I wish, if possible if you can send me this arrange of this music.
I think that i'm asking a lot, but it's a kind of inspirations to me to continue playing piano.
I would be more than happy to send them if I had them. I dont play with sheet music though, I play by ear. I am very sorry, but I do know there is sheet music out there, but its not very good sheet music.
I've been playing for about 5 years now. Most people start out playing the piano by learning some classical stuff, I started with Keane and thats I think I do good at it.
thats funny cause I started out with keane as well haha and ben folds also.! Keane is like one of my top five favorites.. I was addicted after I heard "Somewhere Only We Know" for the first time
I just added your video to my favorites - I love the way you played!!! And you have a good-sounding piano... I'd wish mine would sound that way!!! Good luck on your future projects!!! =)
P.S. I think we could both agree that the coolest part to play in this song is the big piano solo right before the last choruses. The sound always feels mighty whenever I hit those octaves no matter what piano/keyboard I use!
I've come to accept that I probably will never get it 100% accurate to the "Tim style of playing" but thats alright cos I like the way it sounds on my version.
I would have to agree with you! The M8 is the best part of the song, it builds so much energy. I also like the solo break part.
Hey, you've got all these amazing pianos and keyboards laying about from what I gather and you have the resources. With more practice and a lot of listening (which I think you have already done a lot) you will get every note right. I know this because that's exactly what I did before I was satisfied with my TRO emulation. I used to scratch my head in frustration just trying to figure out how to play the chorus right. And now I think I got it alright.
Yeah, I have spent 4 years listening and watching how Tim plays this song. I too used to get really frustrated sometimes. I used to play the chorus really diffrent and it took a while to get the intro down. Im sure if I just keep on playing while watching and listening I will get it right cos god knows that the sheet music is wrong.
The CP itself sounds nice. Good playing too. But still a little less accurate than the Tim-style-of-playing, which I think was what you're aiming to accomplish. You got the intro very nicely. But who am I to criticize? Just another piano playing TR-O fan, I suppose. The important thing is to never stop what you're doing and make playing fun and not tedious.
Hey Derek, what effects are you using in this video?
