  • ye its ironic and i find irony funny....so what animals deserve rights exactly?i know puppys do because there so damn CUTE and so do kittens nd all those lil pets of ours.but what about mosqittoes is it ok if i squash them?or would that be a bit barbaric. you people dont mind if ppl kill fish as long as its not to much of them insects are grand to kill aswell cuz they are dumb. is it just warm blooded animals r sumtin? i dont undersatnd your logic

  • @MrPatrickcollins "Is it just warm blooded animals r sumtin?" - Okay the main argument from people who advocate alternatives to the way we treat animals is that animals feel pain - sometimes more acutely than humans - they are sentiant beings basically (what you hear from alot of those "tree huggers").

Another is that there is this system of exploitation that regards the pain as mearly "nothing" - so you have for example factory farms allowing the animals to be abused and housed horribly.

  • @Missrainbowmuffin People don't care how much pain an animal "feels" but rather how much it "expresses". They personify animals (which is exactly y u felt the need to compare pig torso to that of a human) and therfore feel they deserve rights. i disagree with it because their limits are ridiculous nobody says that it is inhumane to kill a rat yet a kitten or puppy causes outrage. Also what makes animal processing factorys worse for the enviornment then lets say textiles?

  • @MrPatrickcollins No way, I never knew that! lol...its called empathy.

Textiles...okay well I know that the cotton industry isn't so perfect and green for our envrionment. Factory Farms have their plus sides - I just don't think they are good for the long haul. I never meant to say they are the worst of the worst...but you gotta admit there are plenty of alternatives - sad thing is lots of people 1. dont give a shit, 2. want profit 3. prefer convieniance....

    Hope i answered something...lol

  • @MrPatrickcollins Oh and don't start saying "people dont care about rah rah" because I am a people (lol) and I do care that animals feel pain - whether it be less or more than a human - it shouldn't matter. I am not saying we totally abolish our link to animals - as fucking Peta would love (but never achievable) - rather work towards 1. education, 2. promotoing alternatives...theres alot more to consider but hey its 8am in the morning and I am saying what I can...haha...cheers man.

  • @Missrainbowmuffin Im merely trying to point out inconsistancies and contradictions at least my philosophy(dont no what else to call it) is simple and logical. People 1st animals 2nd. If i wanted my food to have a healthy diet excercise and be able to roll over id buy organic but i think i speak for most ppl when saying that i wud rather pay under 10$ for my quarter pounder with cheese...

  • @MrPatrickcollins And this is why we have 1. more money spent on the unheathy medical payments rather than education and other needy areas, 2. diseases being spread and "epidemics" more easily thanks to the farming "factories" rather than smaller scale, localised -"organic" methods, 3. habitat and biodiversity loss - thanks to "over farming" and shitty or little regard to native wildlife and such...I could go on and on, but hey, you wanna eat the shitty burger, its your choice...stupid...

  • @MrPatrickcollins Just because its convieniant and easy - doesnt make it necessary.

  • @Missrainbowmuffin Are you telling me that the ibred crusty greasy 2$ Chicken wings i get in KFC arent good for me?Problem is that "localised methods" are more expensive ...stupid... save money??did u mean to say waste money??ye i thought so. Theres global food shortages and you want to downscale food production just so a fat pig can roll over ye real well thought out. Ive never caught a deseise off a cheeseburger might i add

  • @MrPatrickcollins Localised options don't have to be expensive - not if you do your research and think it through before acting. You also gotta adapt to your area, not every place is easy to do this...so for some it might be a swifter change, than say doing it in an area where the prices are higher in some instances...so yeah i understand not everyone finds it easy or worth while - but ALOT of people simply DON'T care or are too lazy to really make a difference for themselves and our earth, hehe

  • @MrPatrickcollins For instance, my mum started with a worm farm...which is now big enough to sustain all our garden (we live in a single story, small 2-3 bedroom old house - over 90years old - one bathroom, no garage or much of a yard, but side and back garden - small, but decent to make enough food for well over 5 people when you have a good crop/weather/ etc) - not only that, but we re-use our pet's waste to fertilise the garden, and we re use containers for preparing seedlings!

  • @MrPatrickcollins Anyways, I could make a giant list of simple things, anyone can do - which actually can save alot of money if you keep at it! The things we try to do - make a circular system - not linear! So we try to make sure we reduce or eliminate any unecessary waste, energy and the like so that we 1. become more "earth friendly" and 2. live a healthier lifestyle...its hippie but its freakin easy and so much better! Plus its awesome simply going into your little yard and eating fresh stuff

  • @Missrainbowmuffin Ye but its ridiculous to think thats a replacement for factory farming on a global level, everyone just grow their own food in their garden 1.not bothered 2 I dont like veg 3.i like my garden the way it is 4.I trust the eu food regulators enough that im not affraid of my food 5.The Earth faces bigger problems 6.The hormones they put in the food make me taller 7.I like meat

  • @MrPatrickcollins I never said this was a means for everyone, this is just one alternative that has great benefits for people, animals and plantlife. Alot of communities across the globe have turned towards community gardens to promote healthier living - Cuba,Thailand, South America, etc etc.

If you don't eat fruit/vegetables - then you may turn out like the kids in the UK and U.S.A who cannot digest food properly due to their diet based on salty, fatty foods along with processed meat.

  • @MrPatrickcollins I like meat too, I never said this was a way of culling meat out of your diet. My family eat all sorts like cow, pig, lamb, chicken, fish, crabs, oysters, the list goes on. I love meat but I respect where my food comes from - so I look at what is LOCALLY or regionally grown/farmed/raised and consider the effects my consumption has on the envrionment and the animals - which in turn affects myself aswell.

Whatever we buy is affecting the companies too!

  • @MrPatrickcollins I am not forcing you to change, I am simply showing you many great ways that people can and have been trying to help - instead of buying the cheap, easy and in my own opinion really horrible option. You do realise that the hormones are unecessary - if you are raised on good wholesome calcium in your diet, you have a good chance at being tall - look at the genes and diet of people from Holland!

  • @MrPatrickcollins I would love to know the bigger problems you speak of...Oh you might also wanna check out Food Inc, if you haven't then your opinions on the organisations and the food produced might change...anyways its pretty good because it shows there is a huge issue concerning us all - that is the way food is produced.

Btw that argument gets tossed around alot, so please argue the case because I don't know if you realise just how significant agriculture/factories/food outlets are!

  • @MrPatrickcollins

I think you are a retard, Missrainbow is evidently a very patient and understanding person, I frankly think you are an ignorant fool...world food shortages, no shit sherlock but the amount of food wasted each year in the developed world could easily feed the world over - just shut up, your justifications for these practices are so inadequate and unimaginative to say the least.

  • @MrPatrickcollins Oh and there are other, healthier options than going either organic or eating fast food, these are two extremes.its like arguing that you can either go vegan or omnivoure (cant spell tonight, fucking tired sorry)which is retarded because there is more than just those options..alternatives are everywhere, I learn new easier, better stuff everyday because different people are trying new healthy lifestyle options...and these are people working full time raising kids for fucks sake

  • @MrPatrickcollins Yeah it is a tricky issue - i would argue that it is not a question of "which animal gets rights" - which i think is a dumb way of viewing it, since animals cannot "talk" to us. I would suggest that we need to understand the advantages of alternative lifestles and ways of managing animals outweighs the advantages of the system we now commonly have - for instance the amount of energy/power used and water in the factories we have today, the amount of waste accumulated too!

  • happier lives for animals wtf.y does it matter if a fat pig can roll over. i love when they say humane slaughter it sounds funny

  • @MrPatrickcollins I hope you aren't trolling...Actually I would rather you were, otherwise I would have to prove why it matters pigs can move instead of being held in a cage too small.

Yeah humane slaughter sounds funny though, more so just an oxymoron.

  • @MrPatrickcollins Alot of people understand that a pig isn't just food - the pig is smarter than your household dog, they also share vast similarities to humans - such as their torso stucture (thats why they use pigs for medical testing, etc). Pigs are animals that suffer both mentally and physically from being abused - that matters because it is proven that how you treat an animal affects not only the animal, but the product too...ever tried factory farm beef and compared it to healthier ones?

  • @MrPatrickcollins The beef, pork, poultry and various meats being produced in the system on factory farms, that yes often do not allow pigs to roll over or even stand and walk around much at all is not the healthiest option for your diet - nor is it as tasty! Watch Food Inc, also consider looking at Jaime Oliver - yes he is quite silly at times - but he advocates alternatives because they are 1. so much better for your wellbeing and also for 2. the envrionment and 3. the animals

  • @Missrainbowmuffin killing pigs with gas(considered more humane as it is painless) adds unwanted chemicals(bad for health) as opposed to cutting their throat with a knife(barbaric) which could also be more efficient. who are we to decide which way a pig would rather die?

  • @MrPatrickcollins Who is a cat to decide how they kill a mouse? Humans eat meat...if we do, we should consider how we kill them as an important thing...you can't just accept shitty methods...Don't start ranting about not eating meat - ugggh...christ...its gonna happen *covers herself in spam* Okay shields are on...GO ON, ATTACK!

  • happier lives for animals wtf.

  • People are so selfish. So cruel and selfish! Humans should be the ones getting slaughtered.

  • @mostas humans are getting slaughtered u stupid hippy bitch....o no that chicken is crying.poor sad chicken....Honestly i dont give a fuck if my chicken nuggets have a frownie face.

  • @MrPatrickcollins You just proved my point you fucked up maniac!

  • @MrPatrickcollins Where is your proof for such a claim? I am not suggesting what you are saying is false or not happening. Instead of acting like an angry 12 year old, try to back up your claims.

Sure you may well not give a shit about animal welfare, which leads me to wonder why you bother watching a video supporting this way of treating farm animals raised for human consumption and use.

  • @Missrainbowmuffin just watch the news sutime r rread a paper.im not angry i just find animal rights people funny.like the people who freed all the minx in donegal.thousands of them roamed free and just killed thousands of birds nd other animals wiped out a serious amount of wildlife.dumb bastards haha

  • @MrPatrickcollins Animal rights people are funny? Its not funny when people who claim to be fighting for better treatment of animals act like 10 year olds and think "setting them free" solves the problem. I never advocated this and I am not one of these green, tree hugging sterotypes you seem to associate me with.

Yes those particular people are stupid for doing such a thing, but its not funny, its just sad.

  • @mostas No species deserves to be treated this way, even if we humans condone and allow this to continue, it doesn't mean an eye for an eye is the way we should view this issue.

Yes it is just about one of the most cruel forms of treating a species, one that is the most widespread and selfish, yes indeed!

That is why this video promotes alternatives, healthy ones for us humans and the animals...now all we need is more supporters and followers of this lifestyle!

  • I believe in animal rights. I believe all animals have the right to be served with fries and gravy.

  • View my channel to say NO to caged eggs!

  • The only flaw in this is that economicly farmers cant afford to do this sadly. When the wspa is willing to work with the farmers instead of a law then i would be in support of this. But seriously think of the farmers whelbeing along with the animals.

  • love the animal peace to the veg heads like me out there

  • All those chickens are only in there 6 weeks before they go to the processing plant, the calves are pretty much sent to slaughter at that age, if pigs weren't kept in farrowing crates they would most likely crush the piglets, and most of these animals are disease free because they aren't exposed to un-sanitary conditions with other animals. And courtjay, can you imagine having 3000 chickens running around? Stupid fuck

  • @drivechevyhuntcoons lmao "disease-free", and having 3000 chickens running around... Ahhh so you defend factory farming conditions, eventhough say - that same system has lead to oh I dunno, many outbreaks of diseases both harmful to humans AND animals....by backing up this system of treatment/handling you are backing up all the horrible consequences it has had - plus the impacts on the envrionment ex: contaminated water. By housing animals in close quarters you are more likely to spread disease

  • To all veterinarians & vet. students: pay attention to this features

  • Eat free range. No meal is worth animal cruelty.
