It is him, and he said when he finished the album that he never will sing in any nightwish songs any more. It's all said in the Documentary "End of Innocence", watch it, it's quiet long but you'll learn a lot from what the real nightwish was :)

There is not one song or not even a part of a song on DPP that can be compared to this. Such power, guitar sounds amazing, great solo with piano parts... I didn't even started on the vocals, and I won't. AFF rocks, it has more ballads than Oceanborn, but heavy tracks like this, Astral Romance, Elavenpath, are just as impressive.

Their first album has nothing in common with "oceanborn", for me it's the first real Nightwish album. Of course it's interesting to hear what Nightwish sounded like in their demo years, but Tuomas had said that their music was meant to sing by a campfire. And Tuomas's voice is great, btw, but Marco's still better :)
